Sorry but you are mistaken. Just sent you a PM to let you know the real situation down here in Gate City. This is the worst situation I think I have ever seen here. Some of the ones that did return from last year hardly spent any time in the weight room. As for anymore info you will need to read your pm.

What words have I posted that are twisted? I am just stating what I heard Mance said so maybe that could be twisted some from my friends to scare me more about Friday night. As for the rest of my post that is 100% true. We did have 8 quit to focus more on baseball and 6 of those were starters on last seasons team. With those that quit and those injured we will just be too down to compete come Friday night. I will probably be at the game Friday more than likely untill halftime. If we dont get some guys healed up soon this will be a long year for us. Shoot we had two brothers get injured on the very same play at the Jamboree Friday night.

Just going by what they said he told them at breakfast one morning. Some of the problems GC is having thus far are injuries and some wont be back untill week 3. Also GC had some players quit a couple weeks back so they do not return as many starters as the papers say they do. GC will fight hard but due to all that has went on they just cant matchup well with Richlands. As of now GC will be lucky to go 5-5. I would almost say Richlands could play only their 2nd string and still win by 2 tds. I am surprised none of the GC situation has not already leaked out. I am seriously thinking of attending the Lee High @ Powell Valley game instead because of how bad I know Richlands will roll.:(

Something tells me Richlands will be at the top of that list very soon.

I really really hate to say it. I have watched every GC scrimmage this year and have talked to numerous Richlands folks I know. If GC can stay within 4 tds I will be surprised! Richlands is just plain BIGGER, FASTER, and STRONGER than GC this year. It will be a JV game the whole 2nd half. At first glance I thought GC would have a chance in this game but after watching them and knowing what all Richlands has I just see no chance of being anywhere close in Fridays game. Coach Mance was telling some folks I know up in Richlands that this is the BEST team he has ever had at Richlands. He also said he sees no one giving them much of a game untill they get out of Regions.

They (Abingdon) play the smaller schools and cant win haha!

Most of the Clintwood folks I talked to said Honaker was very improved from last year.

Best thing I found to do is let the teams speak for themselves. If GC wants to be the best around this year they need to try their best but man Richlands really really has me worried! I think they will just be too much for Gate City.

GC has been trying to practice hurryup or 2 minute Offenses more the past few scrimmages. The 50 yard 30 second drive was just another chance to do so. Had it been a real game Graham would have probably went for it or if GC happened to have the lead like that in a real game they would have kneeled on it. The only people the scores mean anything to are the fans the players are just trying to get some experience. I was puzzled as to why Graham did not go for it because at some point in the season they may be in that position. As for the pooch kick I am just as puzzled as you unless they are remembering what happened against Lebanon last year and trying to practice that to catch teams off gaurd incase they have a small lead again and deep inside their own 5 again. As for how they do against Richlands I dont know if they will be able to hang with the Tornado or not. Richlands may just be too much.

Clintwood is not a deep team this year. Also their starting FB will be out untill week 2 and one of the OLs are hurt too.

Honaker kept their first team in after Clintwood being up 20 to 7 put in their subs. That was the only reason they came back to win it. Honaker even went as far as rushing the field throwing their helmets like wild men and you would have thought they just won the state title. Clintwood pulled their starters due to already having key players injured and not wanting to risk anymore. I was not there but got my info from a very reliable source that was there. It was not bad that Honaker kept their starters in to work on their weaknesses but why act like it was really winning the biggest game of their lives when they did so aganst 2nd stringers and JV?

No. I was referring to the same post Gizmo was talking about. I too would love to see GC and Clintwood play this year. I wish Clintwood had not dropped GC. It was a great game more years than not. I went to the State Championship game Clintwood played in 2008 and wore a Clintwood pullover. I pull for Clintwood in every game they play except when they would play GC.

I will be there also.

The Jamborees I have watched are just like regular football games not controlled scrimmages. The teams got 2 quarters to play their 1st teams and one to play the rest. I think the Jamborees are better so you play two teams instead of one. It does not matter how packed the stadium should be so long as the teams get what they need.

You cant count that Lebanon game against Gate City. That has become a very heated rivalry.

I just cant see Richlands behind Clintwood this year with what they return. I like to think of the game on the 27th the battle for 1st in SWVA.
