  1. Will Graham get any of the injured back this week.
  2. No real bone to pick with Williams or Hinkle but having more than one defensive scheme in your playbook is just smart coaching. Because if your in a game and the defense just isn't getting it done on that side of the ball then why not have options. Having choices such as a 5-3, a 4-4 or a 22, a dime or a short yardage option available to go to when needed can't be anything but other than good coaching. Williams strength program has given these boy confidence which is a change in the attitude from a few years ago. Williams could look like a hero with this program if he would put in an OC and DC that he could turn complete control over to and then just manage the staff and the game. Strength and confidence are there add multiple looks and game management and they will be dangerous. As for Bluefield that offense is special, hard to say if they are the best ever after 1 game but there wasn't much missing from it. I would love to see it against one of those Charlotte teams they played a few years back.
  3. I believe Graham's Grid will be on the 16th with Marion, Lebonen and Pikeview. Graham plays Lebonen and Marion. Then on the 21st or 22nd Va High comes to Mitchell

Graham looks to be just over 40 in uniform, 3 kids in street clothes and 1 on vacation. Could wind up with 45 -47. That's more than the last few years and they are big.

If my count was right, there were around 40 at the parent meeting last night. Coach said he expects 41-43 possibly as many as 45 indicated by the physical forms received and people who have said they are coming but haven't submitted physicals yet.
  6. I think Tazewell ran a spead last year
  7. I'm a little surprised Allen opted to leave Tazewell although i hear George Wythe is pretty loaded
  8. Hunter Cook and Mark Large signed at Concord not Workman he is just a sophomore
  9. A couple of the coaches have said that they are not reapplying, i have ask a few people that i know that might be interested in coaching but for the most part no one seems to want to apply. The kids say that Coach Williams has announced that he hired a former Salem coach as Def Coordinator.
  10. This team is not a "well oiled machine" I am afraid this is a set back that makes for a real mess come next season, I am hearing too many rumors of kids leaving or just not playing at all. This is becoming all to common at Graham. We are already graduating a pretty big senior class we can't afford to lose any underclassmen. All of this said I think we are looking at a 3-4 win season, I hope I am wrong.
  11. Every Coach except Williams, including Middle School, was relieved of duty and told they could re-apply.
  12. i am surprised we aren't seeing more posts about Graham. Every day it seems I hear someone is quitting, the staff has all been fired or some negative smut. I would like to hear something positive about the team we will field next season. Anybody got anything?
  13. One might consider changing up the defense at halftime if what your doing isn't working, or possibly placing players in positions where they can help you the most, playing kids both ways to get the best 11 on the field. We could have beat that Giles team as well as Richlands if this coach were coaching to win not to implement his Salem style of playing a kid one way and this is the only defense we can run. Run short yardage defense and fill the gaps on a single wing and force them to pass.
  14. Poor play calling, misplacement of players and a couple 2 point conversion attempts and this team could be 4 - 1, they didn't show up at all for the Bluefield game.
