  1. So someone blew the whistle on the whistle blower? lol
  2. If you don't use the proper paint it will void the warranty, but they do make a paint that does not deteriorate the shell.
  3. Penalties killed Richlands last week, as well as starting field position. Seems like Union had great field position each time we kicked. I feel we are going to have to improve drastically in those areas against any team. Trust me G-Men, Richlands boys are not overlooking you or thinking you’re going to be a push over by any means. They are preparing for a game of smash mouth football and they are coming to play. I am excited to hear that your team is ready to play as well, nothing excites me more than a hard hitting, hard fought football game. I feel due to the kicking game or lack of, Blues win this one 21-10 in a hard fought contest.
  4. Poor descision I can buy (we all have made them in the heat of the moment while playing football), but dirty well thats not 45, anyone that knows him will tell you he is a very humble kid. He plays hard and will put your jock strap around your neck if he gets squared up on you, but he gets along with eveyone and is well liked by most. I asked him myself after the game why he hit the kid, and he told me dad you always taught me to play till I heard a whistle, I didn't hear the whistle until I stood up. I know he didn't intentially try hurting anyone, that is not his character, heck I don't think he has ever been in a fight period. So I don't care who you are, unless you know what was going on in the head of the player at the time I don't feel it is fair to catigorize them as "dirty". Just like the last penalty when the kid came across the line while 11 was kneeling, he told me he was protecting his QB, who really can argue with that. I know I would have done the same thing. I personally loved the game, it was a smash you in the mouth hard fought football game by both teams. Like some others have said I really enjoy a physical football game and Union has nothing to be ashamed of period.
  5. Really.........over one play?
  6. As far as I am concerned at this point unless something drastically changes, 45 should be playing, everything to this point seems good to go.
  7. I agree with what you have said here. If you look back to when Devon went down last year these backs rolled on, they may not have been as flashy, but they got the job done. When it comes to this pair they offer Richlands a good mixture of speed and power. FB Johnson can get you them hard yards between the tackles, and Staten is a fast back, given the right seem and he can be explosive and give you that homerun threat, Frank Taylor provides good depth and should be able to play either spots should injuries come in to play. When it comes to AJ, well this kid has lots of talent and can play SE or RB on offense; he can be a game changer as long as he plays smart. They also have a few more good kids to play out on the perimeters. Tight end they have a couple of options, while in a single back set E. Johnson can play TE and gives them a good set of hands and he has the frame to make them tough catches over the middle. QB, Ben has potential, and with age and experience he should be solid, very smart kid and this year could be his year. A lot of questions about Michael Horton have been asked in reference to him taking some snaps at QB, well he may not have played it much on the HS level, but prior to HS Michael was a very good QB, the has a strong arm, tough as nails and can throw with accuracy. The biggest question I feel Richlands has this year on offense if the O Line, if they can put together a good group here I feel this offense can produce and put enough scores on the board to win majority if not all their regular season games this year and be very competitive in the playoffs. Defense, I figure will be solid and possibly the backbone of this team this year. The better they play the better the offense will be because of their ability to grind the ball up and down the field and control the clock or go to the air and strike quick. Special Teams should be good, their play as in the past will determine the success the O and D has.
  8. I agree, got all the confidence in the world that things will get fine tuned very soon.
  9. I don't think you can overlook any team at this point, especially when you’re not clicking on all cylinders. Richland’s can’t keep playing from behind or putting themselves in bad positions like they have done a few times this season, but I feel once Big Blue machine gets to rolling it should be business as usual.
  10. Give 44 his dues, But if he wasn't there I am very confident 30 and 45 would have held the fort down like they did against Gate City.
  11. What I am thinking too...And I feel your pain in reference to memory and hair..lol
  12. Think there was a 2 year gap if my memory serves me right. At one time the league hosted 4 Richlands teams and other teams from Honaker, Twin Valley and Tazewell. Some people liked the idea and others didn't. Many people have put countless hours into trying build this program for the kids and keeping the competition level up, as someone said earlier, your youth program is your feeder program for your high schools. This in my opinion should be a very good game, I have watched the majority of these kids come up through the youth program and have to say both teams have some very talented players.
  13. I think with the Blues being more ball control this year, we will see a lower scoring game, but in the end I feel the Blues will come out on top! I love how the Blues have filled so many holes with up coming kids, signs of a good program. Everyone seems to feel Devon sets the tone for how the team this year plays, not taking anything away from him as he is a great athlete, but Richlands has more talent than just him. I feel what Devon can't do, the rest of the Blues will do what they need to walk away with a RHS win at Earnie Hicks Stadium. The war is won in the trenches, and if Blue do what they did at Bassett, we will see a great ball game. I predict Blues 24 Gate City 7. We will see more of the power game Richlands possesses.
