108 years to be exact The schools themselves have grown far apart in terms of enrollment (TN High has 1300, 5A in TN; VA High has 600, 2A in VA) and particularly money All that has resulted in a massively lopsided game (THS won 23 of the last 25) which ultimately didn't help either team's playoff standings. Covid caused the 2020 game not to be played and it was decided that year that the series would not be continued. The ideal solution would be for the schools to play a preseason exhibition, but that is unlikely because the TSSAA begins a week earlier than the VHSL Losing to them every year sucked but having the oldest rivalry in Tennessee and Virginia come to an end is even worse
