We have a poor coaching staff, great kicking game, a decent defense, a mediocre run game and a poor passing game. With that, how do we come up with a good plan?

I have not heard anything. With the very weak AD that we have, unless the community presses, I don't see any change.

We do have a good defense. The problem is they are on the field for most of the game, because of turnovers.

With the most imbecilic coaching staff in the state, Abingdon has NO chance to win this game. If they(coaches) would make a few personnel changes, we could possibly make a show with just athletic talent. But that would require imbeciles to THINK about what has not worked. Unless there is a complete staff change, I don't see our Falcons ever becoming a GOOD team.

Abingdon should win this game. Our defense is solid for the most part. Our offense is very shakey. Running game can be good at times. Passing game is very weak. I think we have thrown more pick sixes than td's. I know we lead the district in interceptions. If the Dawgs db's are alert this could be a long night. Big O, thoughts?

THANKS. I did some digging myself and discovered that we have beat one team in 3 years with a winning record, that was Battle. I was at that game doing the chains. I saw the big qb cross the goal line. Ref said whistle blew. Abingdon got away with that one. Thanks for the help. We have the worst coach for the best group of kids that i have seen in a long time.

Serious questions: 1.When was the last time that Abingdon made it to the playoffs with a winning record? 2. When was the last time, under John Bowels, that Abingdon beat a team with a winning record? 3. When was the last time that Abingdon beat a school with a similar enrollment? 4. Abingdon only has 3 coaches for a Big football team. How many high school coaches do most teams have? 5. We have a high school coach that is of questioable character. Alleged run ins with the law etc. How in the supposed "bastian of Greatness" that is Abingdon, how does this guy keep a job as a teacher and coach?

We have plenty of internal strife of our own. All you have to do is look around. We still have not beaten a team that has a winning record in over 2 years, maybe 3.

As bad as I hate to back up anything these Goobers say, there was a fake injury day. Aong with a pajama day. Please pray for us. I just realized that Abingdon is worse off than I thought.

We have not had a winning record in years. We have not beaten a team with a winning record in at least 3 years, probably more. That is the plain truth. More truth: If we could ever get a staff that used our talent and understood scheming, we could do well and have a winning record most every year. Lets be honest, our schedule "should" be weak. We make it really tough. That good Tennessee team that you keep talking about (Happy Valley), had gotten beat 134 to 17 in their previous games prior to us.

Not sure. I would love to have someone that would put the best 11 on the field in the right spots. I would like for him to have a little fire in his belly. I would also like him to set up an offense that is best for what type of players he has. We have also heard that he is leaving ( for 5 yrs now). doubt it.

Yes. I was told that he is the #4 punter/kicker combo in the nation.

Its a shame that all we have to be proud of is our kicker, but he is phenominal. I have not witnessed anyone close to his ability.

The truth of the matter is, we have enough talent to win at least 5-6 games. Even with the poor coaching that we have. Not only are they/he sub par in coaching, but really sub par in position/talent recognition. Right now I can think of 5 starting positions where we have MUCH better (proven) people to play those spots. Poor talent managemet along with mediocre coaching is a recipe for losses.

The truth of the matter is you are correct. We have a principal who is an absolute non wave maker. An AD who has a Napolean complex and could care less about football. These two in turn hired a sub par coach at best. He lives in Johnson City and has no vested interest in Abingdon. He does a poor job in recognizing talent, very unapproachable and hires some assistant coach(es )that can't coach anywhere else because of very questioable character. This team has enough talent( if used) for at least 4 or 5 wins with most any coach. It is very frustrating and we don't know where to turn.

A shout out for what? Beating Happy Valley 10-0. Wow.
