I am sure Marcell is very fast. But, very, very few High School players run a TRUE 4.5. Numbers like 4.3, 4.4, 4.5 are thrown around all the time, it's just not the case! Track and field organizations generally use a +.15 correction factor, when comparing old hand timed races to electronically times modern races. Plus, they where hand timed with multiple watches with very experienced timers. Lows and highs thrown out, the rest must generally agree Not a single High School coach saying....... GO. Hand times can easily be .2 to .3 off. The shorter the race the more pronounce this is. Only times that are electronically timed are accurate. If someone wants to time their own team, using the same timer, under the same conditions... then he could get a really good idea of how fast his team is relative to each other. But, the time itself is absolutely meaningless for comparison purposes. Even when comparing to another team that is also hand timing. A guy that runs a TRUE 4.6 is very, very fast and is the fastest guy; by far, in 95% plus of high school games.  A true 4.5 would be about 6th on the following list........   Last NFL combine RB top 40 times. (Fastest college running backs in Draft class) 1. Justice Hill, @CowboyFB, 4.40 2. Ryquell Armstead, @Temple_FB, 4.45 t3. Jordan Scarlett, @GatorsFB, 4.47 t3. Mike Weber, @OhioStateFB, 4.47 5. Travis Homer, @CanesFootball, 4.48 3:18 PM · Mar 1, 2019

So. Radford is considered SWVA in this this forum. Right? Just wondering.

Radford has only given up 60  three times. They will slow the tempo down, GC will have fewer possesions. Gate City is very good and will still score alone more than the 43 points a game that radford gives up. I would put the over under around 58, 59. like I said a very good close game.
Oh, yeah I will be here. You will have some explaining to do. Can't wait.

Matchups are a HUGE part of football that is often overlooked. Defining how "good" a team is not as important as understanding how well they matchup with their opponent

Radford does have good speed. Heath Grant #5, has got better and better as the season has went on. He's about 5'9" 170 but is very, very fast. He is a north - south runner, but he is also shifty. But what is most impressive is how physical a runner he is for his size, he looks to run over people (benches 300 lbs). Marcus Finley(QB) is extremely quick, he is very dangerous if he gets outside the pocket,(knee buckling moves). All the other skill positions are athletic, but are not very big.

Radford was 5-5 during the regular season, but could have been 8 and 2. Was at the Blacksburg (AAA) 10 yard line with a chance to tie, with 10 seconds left and threw a pick six.(Back-up QB, Finley played wide receiver in this game, hurt shoulder). Lost to Ft. Chiswell in Double O.T. (Without Finley), Had an extra point length FG to win the game in regulation against Glenvar and got it blocked, stopped Glenvar in the first OT and missed another extra point length (walk-off) FG to win the game. Lost in the second O.T. Lost to Giles ( dominating team) and played AAAA Pulaski County close for a half before fading in the second half. Radford is alot better than their record

My question is this for the people who know Honaker. Radfords' weakness to me is defending a good, big power running team. Does Honaker have the ability to take over a game between the tackles (I.E. Giles), because if they can, they will keep the Bobcats offense of the field.

One interesting side note to this game is that I heard Honaker has a turf field, if this is true, this is intriguing. I am interesting to see what Radfords' speed/quickness will do on artificial turf.

I am looking forward to seeing this game I think it will be the best second round match up of the 1A west playoffs.
