  1. There was some talk on the #22 kid from Galax, would he play or not, appears he won't play for this game only. Hopefully he won't have to worry about playin anymore...lol... I went surfin and found the article on the galax/castlewood game if anyone wants read. I would take from this article that Galax isn't perfect and they do make mistakes. http://www.galaxgazette.com/content/33-point-explosion-lifts-maroon-tide-60-24-win
  2. I was a little disappointed in the crowd on Sat, would have thought Honaker would have had a little more support than they did. Hope a big crowd heads up to Galax Friday night and don't just go take up a seat!!!! Galax will be tough no doubt, you don't get to 12-0 for no reason. They really have only had 2 close games all year as they beat Glenvar early in the year 17-14 and beat Grayson County 21-6 a few weeks ago! The game that stands out on their schedule is the Radford game in which they romped 43-0 (read a thread on here somewhere that Radford just didn't show up, but geees, fluke?). This was the three best teams on their schedule IMO. If Honaker can put some pressure on em and get em rattled, maybe they pull the upset!! Ride the Tide Tigers!!!!!
  3. I think Burton might have been overlooking Honaker a bit and looking on to Galax, I think they got caught slightly off guard. Anyway game over, ON to Galax!!!
  4. Thx guys .... beans? They good fo yo heart!!! Hey cwood ... was listenin to ur game on radio and when they announced the burton score sounded like ur crowd liked it alot!!!!?
  5. Surprise ... had to do it bugs!
  6. I feel like Honaker matches up better with Burton better this year than the last couple of meetings just from what i read on them as i havent seen them play. Hopefully will be a good game! Who wins? Who knows? GO Orange!!
  7. Oh yeah, wanted to give two thumbs up to the sportsmanship from #25 from Hurley. Saw several occasions where he showed great sportsmanship and that kinda thing is noticed and respected!! Again congrats on a great season to Hurley!!!
  8. Most likely small Dline vs D.Johnson = loss for Tunstall!!!
  9. Gretna is the only Dogwood team I have seen play. It was in the championship game against Floyd Co a few years back and Gretna players were on the field warming up and they were awful!! Thurman was there still and I'm not sure he can keep control of the boys or something, but the players were taunting the Floyd fans before the game in the worst kind of ways!!! If I were from Gretna at that game I would have been embarrassed and ashamed and probably left the game, instead alot of their fans cheered them on as they were makin themselves look foolishly immature (I know they are kids but I mean come on). I have no use for classlessness. ( is that a word...well...it is now..lol)
  10. lol ... glad ya like them, we didn't lie ey???
  11. I posted this before I read all the posts... my bad but it's just my opinion and looks like everybody has one!!! lol thats not a joke 3 officials ( the one on clock side of the field, the one in the Hurley backfield, including the white top gave the signal to end the half and then they talked to tester after Honaker went to the locker room and then they changed it and brought them back out.... now the right call was made to give them another play because on the incomplete pass I looked up at the clock and there was tenths of the last second that ran off ... but my problem was that the refs gave the signal to end the half and overturned it ... that don't happen often. It was the right call. Those 4 calls at the end were just weird. The first was a legit false start, one was the equipment call (mouthpiece not fastened) that the kid said he was not warned, then the illegal motion that Hall (QB) was NOT set under center when the ref through the flag ( I was at the fence with a clear view), and then the assisting the runner call which I have never seen in any game and IMO was a bit picky because they could call that alot more if they wanted but I guess technically it was legit.
  12. The ref motioned he touched the ball and he was right there ... better view than anyone else besides the players in the play.
  13. When the play finished with the incomplete pass in the endzone i lloked up there was tenths of a second left as it ran off .... so the call was right to give hurley another play ........ what got me on this was that 3 diff refs including white top were callin it the end of the half and they reversedit after talkin tester and honaker had went in to locker room. There was a penalty for someone not havin there mouth piece which u almost never see and an aiding the ball carrier .... someone explain that one .... ive never seen that before Just want to say congrats to the Tigers ...and congrats Hurley on a good season. Rebels came to play snd it was the game many were expecting ... definitely got my heart rate up a few times .... Hope everyone had a safe trip home!
  14. It's gameday boys .... thx for all the dicussions this week .. been interesting .. everyone have a safe trip over to Honaker!!!!
  15. 100% agree .... Down with the triple option!!!!!!!
  16. Tunstall High is in Pittsylvania County, right? Next county over to the east from Henry County (Martinsville). Like 45 min from Martinsville?? btw...Go Canes!!!
  17. I'm sure Hurley has went back to the drawing board after the first game and I won't argue as I think the game may very well be closer this time around. As for Hurley's D matching up better against the Tigers, I'll answer with a question. In the course of the first game, did Hurley ever stop Honaker's offense? Now on the opposite side, Hurley did manage quite of few rushing yards as Berglowe is a good back (won't deny the young man respect he deserves). A. Cooper is a pretty good QB and I'm not sure Honaker's D stopped Hurley in the second half. I feel like Honaker is the better team. If they play the game they are capable of and minimize turnovers, they win IMO. Anything can happen to swing the MO. If Honaker comes out flat, turns the ball over and let's Hurley believe they can win, it's amazing how things can happen. {One game I feel was a great example of this was last year when Honaker played Va High who were pretty heavy favorites in that game and Honaker sent the cats back to Bristol with their tails tucked between their legs. was that last year? anyway.} As far as bad calls, (fellas help me out, but at Haysi in the first half Honaker had 11 penalties to Haysi's 2, correct ?? (Some legit and others not and several no calls.) Honaker still won the game, so that goes to show you, you can overcome bad calls (unless it's a game winning bad call...lol) I know I'm ramblin! Finally, I respect your opinion Lance on who you want to win the game and that's cool, like you said before you pull for Hurley when not playin Grundy, I think that's awesome, but you're logic about why you think Hurley is the better team is kinda unfounded as far as all the stats go. But, again I respect your opinion.
  18. You sure you're feelin' ok? Somebody should be feelin' a sick day Saturday? lol.... hate ya gotta work man, bummer!!
  19. Thus the jk ... hope we see a good playoff ballgame!!!
