I was sick. As far as Haysi goes, some were Sykes fault(just bad passes) and some were a product of playcalling. Trying to throw it deep against superior athletes is not the way to win. I imaging that applies to Honaker too
Yes. I feel the same. Thornhill made a couple good catches on the deep balls that wouldnt normally be caught but we had our chances and didnt get it done. I mean you got a D1 commit to play DB, well .. i wont get started there. You can say well if we would have done this or that and if this or that wouldnt have happened, it woulda been a different ballgame but the bottom line is we did not get it done. Thats about all you can say. It was a great season with some good ballgames and alot of fun!! Congrats Haysi, Richlands, and Honaker on great seasons! There a many teams/fans that would have loved to be in our positions yesterday SWVA baby... we will be back!!!
Here is the write up from Altavista's game with Parry McCluer.. I find the headline hilarious:: Introducing your Region 1A East Champs: The Altavista Colonels!! LOL!!!!
Any team and any time can be beat IMHO... We got a shot ... that's all we need and listen: gotta beat them to move on, if you don't ... you won't. One thing I know is this bunch of Tigers will give it their all and I think may surprise some!!!
I am curious if the rise of Altavista and the fall of Gretna programs are connected. Those communities are so close together, I wonder if some of that talent migrated to Altavista from Gretna.
If so, I hope they left their attitudes and arrogance in Gretna!
