Personally I hope for a Union win but with that said the offense has went in the wrong direction the last 4 games unless coach Turner is just not wanting to show his hand and by keeping his playcalling close to the vest this game could get ugly quick. Graham has revenge on its mind and Union is playing the underdog card. So I'm saying Union scores late then holds onto win 28 Graham 24.

I will gladly cheer on whatever team makes it to the state for Region D and be happy for them. After all, they are all high school kids working toward the same goal no matter the school they attend. Are they always perfect, not a chance but they are kids. As adults we should be the standard bearer for sportsmanship. With that said, Go GMen! If another team comes out on top for Region D, then I'll cheer "Bring it home to SWVA boys!"
You are correct in your comments about my post. I have nothing against any Kid who plays for Graham. It is just that I remember the time when if ones team lost is was like the victor would burn the town.
Take the Richlands game for what it’s worth. I understand there was a ton of other stuff going on and you can split it 100 different ways. But 45-0 and just toying with Richlands RARELY happens. The reason I say they are the favorites for the State title is because I think they are the clear favorites out of region D. I think the winner of C would close the gap quite a bit, but I feel they have the speed to match up with whoever it may be. From what I gather, East Rockingham is the favorite From A and B and I feel when they match up with the G-men it could go either way, and as many problems as I have with Graham, I’ll pull for the region D team regardless.
I will hold my nose and pull for Graham. No love for them , but Region D is us and we are one come playoff time.
Which is a bit ridiculous to make playoffs with a losing record for any team, not just Richlands...VHSL found a way to grab even more $$$$ ...it used to mean a lot more to make the playoffs, now dang near every team makes it to regionals around here.
What if last year the Blues played Ridge View and Lee instead of Blacksburg and William Byrd ?
I've commented, but have yet to put a score. I believe the experience and numbers will lead to a Bearcats victory. The Bulldogs won't have the look of a deer caught in headlights, like they did in Bristol last year. VHS will wear Tazewell down in the first half, with a much better running game than they had last year. Tazewell will be much improved, but so is VHS.
Congrats to Appo no matter what happens in this game past 3 seasons been top dawg of 2A football. But I can only speak for myself in saying I'm glad its over and that arrogant fanbase will go back into hiding. Hate on me on you want but you never heard anything about them until 2014. Go BEARS
If memory serves me correctly , I think they had a post season game of some sort at Gate City several years ago. Their coach was John Justice with mom I became acquainted with when he returned to Buchanan County . He was Principal of Garden High School for short time and relocated to Knoxville..
you statement about APPO is correct as I never heard any more about them until 2015 when they made an unbelievable late comeback to beat Richlands.

If a poster says he hates a team he must surely mean he or she hates their fans and not the kids playing the game we love so much.When your team loses a game to a rival -like Union Richlands or Graham Bluefield or Gate City Richlands or Union etc your criticism should be on someone other than the kids playing the game ! I bet a lot of the haters of so & so never played the game.

I listened to the game and it came in loud and clear in Richlands . I may have missed something and I would appreciate clarification ! Did Union try an onside kick that went out of bounds or did they just kick it out of bounds?

I do remember and not taking anything aways from Graham or Marion, they were better those games because they won! Union is just a rivalry for us. No History like Graham - Bluefield , or Richlands -Tazewell-. Richlands -Graham or Richlands Gate City just Barn Burner Games. I am trying to say that we have a new nemesis with the same intensity as our old nemesis previously named.

Complete domination!!! Unions defense is legit best in the STATE IMO. They just showed it Graham is a high octane offense. Da U shut them down physically wasn't even fair. Graham is a good team union shut them down. Hope we can keep it up!!
Richlands is the best team you played this year. What a rivalry this has become.Union is up 2 on us so we need to win 2 in 2018.GO BEARS. I hope to be there and see how Appo players like the long long bus ride or the overnight stay here in the Great Southwest.

High School Football sometimes brings out the worst in us . I don't dislike anything about Graham High School or any of the players . I knew Coach Carlock fairly well and had great respect for him. I sometimes say things just to jerk a chain or 2 . Just bear in mind a saying my Dad often used" everybody thinks his crow is he blackest"I will be a Man fan if they make it to Salem.
Being from Richlands, I almost hate to speak the words, but I am pulling for Graham. The QB's uncle use to be my son-in-law and I have watched Cameron from pee wee up, so I wish him the very best game of his life and hope they bring home a win. My heart tells me that Union's defense will be to much for the G-men and although it will be a good game, I think Travis Turner will have the Bears running on all cylinders come game time, and will claim another victory. Best of luck to both teams and their fans, both teams deserve this game, enjoy this time, you will remember it the rest of your life.
I am from Richlands and it doesn't bother me a bit to pull for Union .No love for Graham .
They are the real deal once again. I thought we had a chance but they are on another level.
Why are they apparently so much better than our teams?Are they just having an exceptional run talent wise?Will they see a downturn anytime soon? Richlands had them beaten in 2015 with 6 + minutes left and then just totally gave it away.
