  1. Tech has exhausted scholarship spots for running backs. They had hopes for one more in Shai Mckenzie out of Penn. I've heard he has a walk on offer. Maybe a gray shirt?
  2. If Steven Peoples doesn't get hurt I think the Tide rolls.
  3. Just once I wish Hale would be man enough to blame himself. No one in the county wants to play for him and that's no bias that's just cold hard facts.
  4. Galax lost QB/S- Pack who will play for Concord next year RB/LB- Vaughn who if I am correct also signed with Concord RB/WR/LB- Fisher WR/LB- George who will play for Emory WR/S- McKinney who towered with George at 6'4" DE/TE- Parsons who led the basketball team to 2 consecutive state rings and quite a few linemen Only two big names returning are Donte and Steven Peoples and as stated above the JV team was pitiful at best Grayson lost their RB Xavier Rodriguez and FB Darren Anderson and rumors had it that the upcoming senior WR Mikey Rodgers transferred but left his very talented JR QB brother in Independence. Galax will have to scratch and claw to finish above .500 and Grayson should be fairly competitive depending on how they soothe the losses in the backfield.
  5. Galax 56 Clintwood 10 That's being nice. Anyone remember how bad Clintwood got beat by Grayson? Everyone aware that Galax beat Grayson by 2 Touchdowns? I know anything can happen, especially with the fire a state championship sets inside of a kid, and I know that comparing scores is never any good but when the point spread is that big it cant help but to throw up some red flags. In no way am i hoping for a blowout and i like Clintwood but i see them hollering Uncle by the 3rd quarter. Galax is on a completely different level than both single A divisions. They might've made a good run in the AA play-offs. I understand the lack of attention they're getting on this board being greatly due to the fact most of us live farther west, but i make no joke when i tell you Galax is downright scary good.
  6. Having watched both teams play on multiple occasions, Im gonna say Galax by 14+ and thats being generous. Galax is better coached, they have better athletes, and these kids having been so close to making the state playoffs last year, only to lose a close one to East Mont in regions, they just flat out want it more. Another factor working against Grayson is they have experienced multiple injuries to a roster thats not so deep. The only thing I see working against Galax is the location but with the two schools being so close, I honestly dont know that this being @ Grayson is too big of an advantage. But i think it was best said earlier when it was stated that this is indeed high school football and anything can happen any given friday. Goodluck to both teams.:)
  7. Its about that time again. Any thoughts?
  8. The Mollett kid from Carroll County is a hoss at fullback, he is also a force on the defensive line for the Cavaliers.
