  1. Richlands and G men both should drop Bluefield and see if the crying stops. If you can't run with the big dogs stay on the porch. Gmen have never won a decade series with Bluefield 8-2 last decade. Bluefield is 69-23-2 all time against Gmen. Bluefield has won 11 state champ. , 6 runner- up. Graham has never beaten Beaver any of these years. Graham has won 3 state champ. ,Bluefield beat Gmen 2 of those years.  1959 & 2017.    BAD OFFICIATING SURE LAST A LONG TIME.

  2. You always hear other teams say Richlands cries when they lose. But I see now how true this really is. The call on the onside kick was the right call by the rule. It is up to the coach to know the rule of how many has to be on each side of the kicker. . CRY BABIES!!!!!!

Bitter much....I only know of two transfers playing for Graham and I think they live in Graham’s district. Even without those two players Graham is still better than Tazewell and likely still in playoffs. The population has declined everywhere in this area. These teams would still beat the teams of 80’s and 90’s. They have a higher football IQ and are playing using more advanced concepts in middle school than those high school teams ran. Similar to the NFL the 49rs were great in the 80’s but wouldn’t even sniff the playoffs I theirs era.

I disagree with Graham beating Tazewell without transfers. Lester was at Bluefield until he transferred to Graham in 10th grade.  Graham would be 5-5 at best without Lester.

Tazewell has improved and I'm so happy for their program and town. I think they give Graham the second closest game of the remaining 9 after Union. The GMen better come to play because Tazewell is big up front and very fast. I got Graham winning it 44-24. The Graham team I watched against Bluefield is the best Graham team I've seen in week one regarding talent, ability to win and be dominate, since 2000ish. Graham turned over, penalties, etc against Bluefield and I'm not denying that. What I'm getting at is, if they don't have over 100 yds in penalties and crazy turnovers, I just don't see any team in the region getting closer than 17 points. I'm only basing this by comparing Graham to other Graham teams of the past.

Lester's health is huge. He's a Div 1 athlete and he's better as a QB than Cam Allen was, and losing him is a season changer. But if he's healthy, and they don't turn over 5 times and have over 100 penalty yds in a game, I just think they will walk into the semi's and even then, a team like Radford, Appo, or Glenvar will have a huge task. I'm saying this Not to be disrespectful to any opponent. I'm basing it on watching years of Graham football and this team is dynamic. Tazewell is clearly better and will come to win, not just compete, but man oh man, Tazewell picked a tough year to return to glory or prominence with the team Graham has this year. Graham wins handily, but not a blowout, 44-24. I got the GMen beating Union by 17 and Richlands by 21. Only my thoughts,

Go Graham, and P.S. for Coach Palmer, sorry you, your staff, and your kids had to suffer that absolute criminal act, a joke, a horrific effort of officiating Friday night. That's exactly what it was and I stand by the statement. Is it complaining, whining? Sure, whatever, so be it. It was an absolute joke and shi*show job by that crew who I hopes never works again at any level.

I have heard Graham fans whining for years. If they lose it is the officiating, weather to cold ,to hot , parking lot was full, any and everything. THE BEST TEAM WON.   Maybe things will change next year(LOL)

People forget to give the players much credit for their defensive play. These seniors  as 8th graders gave Bluefield Middle team their only loss of the season and held a much faster BMS team to 1 score. And prior to that , They held a Bluefield Cardinal team that scored 40 or more points a game to 1 offensive TD for 2 games in a row. Oh yeah and the opposing teams QB was Devin Lester. These seniors didn’t have that explosive offensive player back then  but they were tough, smart and coachable. They were a tremendous group of defenders long before Edwards, Atkins, Ray and even Lester came along.  Adding those kids just gave them more confidence with the added speed.

Are you saying Large is the same as Simon..

  6. In the last part of Bluefields scrimmage they got a TD and had a FG blocked. PC had negative yards in the last part of the scrimmage. PC scored both TDs on Bluefields 2nd team . School started first week of practice in Mercer co so they had zero 2 a days. Total of 11 practices before the PC scrimmage. Bluefield has a way to go to catch up but things will be a lot better by the first game.
