  1. Best s senoir I saw was from Graham. Outside of that the QB's that stand out are juniors. Floyd, Fort Chiswell, Grayson, Gretna and Glenvars I thought were all pretty good.
  2. Sussex struggled with Bath and Parry McCluer. Bath was ahead of them in the 4th 10-7 before Sussex scored with 2 minutes to go. Against PM it was 14 all going into the 4th before Sussex pulled away 30-14. These 2 teams I think are below average. They beat I thought a really good team in Lunenburg.
  3. I was talking to a assistant coach of an MED team tuesday and told him that GW has the best front seven and would give Clintwood trouble. Against Radford and Floyd they were getting used to being without Atwood. GW has a very good team. 20 senoirs I think. Their defense held Fort to 265yds of off.-Fort's lowest total all year. Need to turn some of those yards into points though.
  4. I really think he wasn't planning to kick on 4th down. Spead and run what he went to later. I agree with you.
  5. Good game-JB kept Fort pinned deep in the 4th qtr when they needed to. Some were saying why didn't try a FG.Fort's kicker Akers had made 2-43yarders this year. He slightly tore groin 2 weeks ago so when they were at the 27 late not a chance in that wind. I think early in game when Fort was at the 8yd they were pretty agressive-INT(good interception by # 1)- I don't think they would have tried a FG even from 25yds and the wind wasn't blowing at that time.

  7. I know JB had 4 turnovers in the first half against Honaker. Honaker rushed for 197 yards in second half. Fort runs the ball pretty well. What Off. formations does JB run? Excited to see this game. Good to see teams that you don't usually get to see.
  8. high school and middle school together-behind both
  9. This run is even more meaningful with Fort's student enrollment now around about 450 and being their last year in division 2. Listed at 496 but that is 2 year old numbers. Someone had said John Battle had 60 on their roster(9-12). I think Fort has 41. Can anyone give a location of John Battle roster with size and weights?
  10. I wouldn't be shocked if Battle won but I would be surprised.
  11. There is a big difference between Giles and Fort. Giles opponents records outside of playing Giles were a combined 56-76. For Fort it is 83-53(counting JB). Not taking anything away from JB, I am not sure that Giles was a good team or really good team. I told a couple friends when Fort struggled with JB in the benefit game that Jb will have their best team in the last decade.Fort is a team that will make your heart jump though. Even though they outgained Grayson last week by 250 yards-27 seconds to go to win.
  12. How many turnovers did Galax have?
  13. Gretna will be hard to handle next year. The lone team they beat with a winning record was Tunstall.
  14. Gretna's talent is young-2 senoirs, played alot of juniors, sophomores and a few freshman
  15. Honaker's field,turf-grass , astro-turf or real grass
  16. yes, plays battle/giles winner. Grayson has a very good team. The turnover they had when Rogers was hurt pretty much sealed their fate against Fort. I would like to see this game if possible. I would hope Hamm is healthy. I think someone said he only played tailback for 4 plays in the first half the last time they played Grayson. I don't think either "D" is that good. Fort has some players out of position and Grayson is small in the secondary. One thing about Fort-they have more 75-80 yard drives than about any team I have seen play.
  17. A few minor injuries outside of Donte Peoples-Galax 32 Honaker 30
  18. against the wing, don't chase the football-play your postion and let the football come to you
  19. Won't come close to Clintwood, couldn't beat GW or Galax, could beat Honaker and JIB on any given night.
  20. I think if the district stays the same next year- between Galax, Graham and Fort. Grayson has 18 senoirs-think they step back a little
