I think they are but not positive. Ultimately, districts mean absolutely nothing. Conferences are the meaningful standings now. Basically, Marion cannot hide in the Hogo and play teams half their size anymore.

enrollment aside, I feel like Graham will fill its schedule ( that is not mandated by district) with quality level opponents. Who gives a crap how big or small they are. If Graham is going to have a good team (which they should) they will fill it with competition... not marshmallows. Graham returning to the SWD will add some more strength to its schedule since they have to play district teams once. Give us a break with the enrollment crap... no one gives a damn. Hurley is small, cool. Hurley was also a good team that played a cupcake schedule. No one cares that they are a small school and PM did not care when they came to the Cliff and took your beloved season away. Good teams play good schedules... bottom line.

At the end of the day the ADs are responsible for scheduling, however, Head Coaches basically tell the ADs who they want to play. School to school, some thing differ but ultimately if a coach wants to play weaker competition they choose to.

Best chance of beating Appo? Has anyone seen anything the East has to offer? I vaguely remember Union rolling into Clarke County pretty confident last year and went back down 81 pretty upset. My take, there are 4 teams left in the state in 2A football... They all 4 got a good chance at winning the whole thing.

I concur! Both are rough feeds but better than nothing. I just do not understand the idea of just getting anyone to call these games. I can imagine they have a decent listening base currently and not making the best of it (waxm at least). Can they not find an old ball coach somewhere to call it? I am okay with the biased calling to an extent. Probably the best feed I have listened to is WGTH out of Richlands.

Something I have just realized this year... Good sports commentary is tough to find. WAXM is rough currently and the Appo stream sounds like it is their coaching staff talking about the game... completely Appo biased. Rightfully so, but I just want someone to merely call the game as they see it. But then again the United States cannot even get a news network to do that on television. Thanks Obama/Trump

My schedule comment was entirely directed as sarcasm... I forget internet sarcasm is tough sometimes. As for their schedule goes, I feel like for the most part, they know what they will have in a few years. They utilize a JV team I assume as well as play young kids as freshmen/sophomore's. Maybe I am too foolish to believe that NO ONE in Hurley saw that this team could have been good 4 years ago. The addition of the QB was icing on the cake for them this year. I just have a hard time believing that this team just popped out of no where and was good last year. With that said, no I do not think they should be trying to schedule the Richlands/Graham/Union's of the state but maybe a few teams with some clout. Maybe they did and was ignored several times. Who knows. Bottom line, their schedule came back and haunted them somewhat this year. Just my two cents for what it is worth. Which is not even that much.

No disrespect against Council, but I do not think their Varsity team could compete against GC jv team... maybe even middle school. Gratned Council has about 100-150 kids.
