Let me say this, if Buckingham had better utilized that "tremendous" speed, you would be hosting instead of traveling to Gate City.

I am not a Gate City fan but I suggest that your folks prepare for a bit of culture shock. Gate City has a bunch a very decent people who basically lose their minds when it comes to supporting their football team. Anyway... You refer to Buckingham's speed as a main factor...but Goochland beat Buckingham by a couple of scores. Goochland is not a very fast team overall. Goochland lost to FUMA's undergraduate team who is definitely not characterized as fast this year. Nottoway has speed everywhere and they beat Buckingham. Since Buckingham has lost to both fast and not so fast teams, why are you so confident?

Ol' Dan must be talking about his boy's 30 yard time...everybody knows that all the kids that are REALLY fast over that way transfer to Fork Union.

A guy our company does business with in the Rockingham County area is a volunteer assistant at Broadway. So I know a little about their team through him. He knows that I cannot stand former Bearcat coach (Thurman) who now coaches Harrisonburg H.S. He thinks Thurman is an @** as well but that is another story... Here are a few odds and ends I have gleaned from my source and the Harrisonburg newspaper: The Gobblers have battled inconsistent and undisciplined play all season. They beat a bad William Monroe team 21-14 (and were lucky to do so). They lost to a mediocre James Wood team. They are very physical but "sloppy". Their schedule is pretty weak because their district is down. They do not have a stand out type player. Their community supports the team as there is not much in Broadway. They would much rather play Friday night because most of their players will be in tree stands Saturday morning. My source called our office early this morning wanting to know if I had any information about Abingdon. I referred him to Southbound and Falconman. I hope he has a sense of humor or we may have lost a customer. FYI: There is no Taco Bell in Broadway but you will find one in nearby Harrisonburg on Rt. 33. Reservations not required.

I wouldn't worry about ole Welcher4VT's feelings. He is thin skinned . I'll wager that he doesn't care if he posts crap that makes you mad so why should you care? Some people have thin skin, others just like to gig everybody else a little. Most everybody else is in the middle somewhere. If I were you, I would change 3 things: (1) Your screen name to stop being confused with a relative of MINE!!!!!!!!!!!!. (2) Stop apologizing to Welcher4VT and others for hurting their feelings, stepping on their toes, etc. If they ain't man enough to take it, let THEM go elsewhere. To steal a quote from The Dark Tower -- The Gunslinger, "Go then; there are worlds other than these". (3): Don't use a kid's name except in praise...and then I'd be careful. Take this for what it is worth...probably 2 cents.

I think I will have to pull for Abingdon just to see if Ryan4VT keeps his word!
