beaverbaseball 10 Report Share Posted February 2, 2005 The Mountaineers came out on top in what was one of the most rugged slugfests of the 2004-05 recruiting season on Tuesday when five-star running back Jason Gwaltney announced live on ESPNews that he will sign with West Virginia University http://westvirginia.rivals.com/default.asp?SR=RivalsFP He is ranked #15 overall in the nation. I think WVU running game will continue to be great over the next few years with this prospect. WVU has 30 committed prospects including 2 from around here Nate Sowers-Martinsburg Zac Cooper-Weir(this dude scared me, he almost stopped us from even making it to the big game) haha MARSHALL had a total of 16 committents. And not one of them are from West Virginia. I think we need to get more prospects from our state
rhsfan88 22 Report Share Posted February 2, 2005 I heard from my cousin, who is from Bluefield, that Marshall got a commitment from the #1 RB out of the state of Florida. Heard they beat out FSU,Florida,Miami and LSU for this guy. J/w if any of you had heard anything about it.
beaverbaseball 10 Author Report Share Posted February 2, 2005 I just now checked on it and the only RB from Flordia that Marshall got is Deondrea Lindsey/RB 2 star, 6-0/175 St. Petersburg, FL You can check it out at this website: http://marshall.rivals.com/commitlist.asp?Sport=1&Year=2005&School=
rhsfan88 22 Report Share Posted February 2, 2005 The site you gave is for last years recruiting. Here's the 2005 one web page It says they have a commitment from a 3 star player named Paul O'Hara, maybe this is the guy I was told of. rhsfan88 22 Report Share Posted February 2, 2005 Maybe he can come in and be a nice 3rd down back or something b/c i think that a certain Mr. Bradshaw will probally being handling the running duties next year.
beaverbaseball 10 Author Report Share Posted February 2, 2005 haha yea im happy to see Bradshaw doing good up at Marshall. As long as he can stay out of trouble I think he will have a Great season if not a All-American Season
rhsfan88 22 Report Share Posted February 2, 2005 I'm not saying what he did was right but it might have been a blessing in disguise that he got kicked out of UVA and then got a chance at Marshall to play RB. If he stayed at UVA he might have never seen the field until his junior year and might have never had the chance to play on offense, where i think he excels. beaverbaseball 10 Author Report Share Posted February 2, 2005 That is true. I think Marshall is a good school for him anyway. Even though the Prestige isn't as big as Virginia, he will see more playing time and more publicity
rhsfan88 22 Report Share Posted February 2, 2005 Yeah Marshall is a very good fit for him and maybe he can follow the like of Pennington, Moss, and Leftwich and make it good in the NFL.
beaverbaseball 10 Author Report Share Posted February 2, 2005 He has a chance 2 We will just have to wait and see how he progresses

beaverbaseball 10 Author Report Share Posted February 3, 2005 That is true but Tech lost some players 2. I still think WVU and Louisville will battle it out for the Big East Conference Title
