Narz_Wave 10 Report Share Posted June 30, 2005 What's everyone's longest away game this year?? For Narrows, this year, we travel almost two hours to Independence to play Grayson.
hhstigerfan 12 Report Share Posted June 30, 2005 Honaker to Hurley is about 2 hours on a bus. When Honaker played Rye Cove that was also 2 hours. When Honaker played Rye Cove they always played RC and Hurley away on the the same year and in '02 we had Hurley, Rye Cove, AND Grayson County(also 2 hour trip) all 3 away. djr4hurleyfb 12 Report Share Posted June 30, 2005 Hurley to Unaka (and vice versa) is a very long trip. It's around 4 hours, give or take (bus more than automobile). Hurley goes to Thomas Walker this year as well. Thats about a 5 hour trip I do believe.

hhstigerfan 12 Report Share Posted June 30, 2005 I know this wasn't during football season, but I bet all you basektball people going to Grundy hated the detour through Honaker when 460 was closed!

zach 10 Report Share Posted June 30, 2005 For Abingdon gonig to Carroll County will be very far. Since Abingdon is about an hour away from Richlands, and it took about a 3 hour bus ride, than it should take a very long time. We play them at AHS this year though I believe. BigD4VT 11 Report Share Posted June 30, 2005 You should be able to get to Hillsville faster from Abingdon than from Richlands.
hhstigerfan 12 Report Share Posted June 30, 2005 It should take like an hour 40 mins. An hour from Abingdon to Wytheville and like another 35-40 mins to Hillsville from Wytheville.
zach 10 Report Share Posted July 1, 2005 I didn't know. I figured gonig through Rihclands area, and I don't know much about highways, just my guess.
BigD4VT 11 Report Share Posted July 1, 2005 I bet it won't even take an hour from Abingdon to Wytheville. Probably 30 minutes at the most.
hhstigerfan 12 Report Share Posted July 1, 2005 Yeah ur right, its 54 miles from point "A" to point "W" so on a bus it would probably be about 45-50 mins. Not sure because everytime I go to Wytheville I go to Bluefield and go down 77. Never been on the stretch of 81 between Rural Retreat and Wytheville. Guest BB_TWEEDER Report Share Posted July 1, 2005 Id say the trip for Hurley this year to Thomas Walker will be horrible.
cityofRaven 2,444 Report Share Posted July 1, 2005 Thomas Walker? is that the one out in nowhere surrounded by cows lol
hhstigerfan 12 Report Share Posted July 1, 2005 Yep, in Ewing about 30 minutes past Lee High. Its not a fun ride to there from Honaker so I can only imagine what a bus ride from Hurley to the western end of Lee County would be like. (shudders...) Hurley fans, why on earth did Hurley schedule TW. Surely you could have found a closer team to schedule than that!
