old_school_blue 247 Report Share Posted June 8, 2006 [ QUOTE ] Anthony Church... Luke Owens.... Enough said  [/ QUOTE ] No, I would disagree, Owens was tough on the mat, but, got pushed around too much on the field. How do I know? Because I played against him. Ever heard of Chris Austin from Graham. Sam Barnett, Yancey Tabor, Robbie Honaker, Keenan Bowman, Matt McGlothlin all from RHS.
BigD4VT 11 Report Share Posted June 8, 2006 Owens started slow at Tech but finished with a strong senior season. I never saw him in high school but he was a good college lineman. Â Matt McGlothlin has had a good career at Tenneesee. Â Mike Compton was a college all-american, has a pair of Super Bowl rings, and spent 12 years in the NFL. Observer77 12 Report Share Posted June 8, 2006 Chad Beasley (Gate City) is currently with the Carolina Panthers organization after being drafted a few years ago by the Minnesota Vikings. After playing DT in college at VT, most NFL teams considered him a better fit on the offensive line.
BigBlue02 11 Report Share Posted June 8, 2006 From Richlands I think Travis Beverly before the knee injury should be up there in the mix.

old_school_blue 247 Report Share Posted June 9, 2006 The best linemen I played against was Michael Hughes. He played at Lee and ended up a Division III All American OT @ Emory and Henry. He would have went to a Div.1 school but he was only 6'1. Not that that mattered.
old_school_blue 247 Report Share Posted June 9, 2006 I have to disagree Big D, I thought Luke underachieved at Tech. His last year I watched him really struggle.
