Earthquake strikes Richlands

Giles Co. sits on one of the biggest fault lines east of the Mississippi.

 

Here is what the USGS said about Thursday's quake...lists it as a "probable collapse event" at about .6 miles deep...sounds to me like an old mine shaft gave way...

Check out the seismogram reading from Thursday...this was from the seismograph located in Giles Co...can you tell when the earthquake happened???

There are a lot of fault lines people don't realize..small ones that run through coal seams..Don't freak out though, it wasnt an Earthquake, just a HUGE coal bump. The last one that happened was when Buch. 1 caught on fire.
