well mulkey went 8-8 from 3's in the second half on wed. against carroll he singlehandedly tore us apart.. barnett hit a couple of shots but only like 2 or 3, also i know he at least made 2 threes in the first half so thats 30 points right there, if i could vote for poty he'd have mine after that clinic he put on on wednesday.

You must really be out of your mine, let's see I would guess Mulkey has many less shots than Billiter most nights, I would say many nights he doesn't lead the team in shots taken, lets take the Carroll game, it is a fact the he took 7 shoots in the 2nd half, made then all (3's) and was 7-8 from the foul line. So if you feel Billiter is POY then that is fine, he is a fine player and so is Mulkey. I would guess these two young men would mop the floor with someone like yourself and given day, because they are out there giving it their all and not argueing with people like you who really know nothing about the game. Good luck to both of these young men in the tournament.

u know if i had to choose who would be the player of the year i would have to say bobby peck from grundy. He has the best shot in the district.........he has averaged like a double double all year......and in three straight games he had a tripple double......he is the heart and soul of grundy basketball he has been for the last three years......i mean cody is good and i mean he makes alot of points but bobby does that also and controlls the offense.....so not taking nothing away from cody or any other player on the wave roster but i would have to say that bobby peck takes player of the year in the southwest district...........and i mean yeah ben is good to but as we all seen when he came to grundy i shut him down and when we went to richlands he only had 18 so it should be bobby peck player of the year.............anyone agree

Bobby probably is the most complete player in the district but the reality is the stats are what make you POY. He ranks well in almost all statistical categories but he isnt high enough to garner the votes of the other coaches in the district who only get to see a player 2 times a year. Points are always in the paper and thats what people ask about. It's a shame too because Bobby's sacrifices for his team are going to keep him out of it.

yeah you are probabally right i mean i have seen it over and over and over bobby will have a wide open shot and pass the ball to cody or even myself.......and as u said he fits well in all catagories except for scoring and that is because he aint a ball hog he passes everytime down the floor no matter what and we have seen it on any giving night he can drop 25 i mean we have seen it alot.......i mean shoot he has averaged a double double and even had a couple tripple doubles.........

mulkey is a great player hands down the only thing he is lacking is d......... i mean shoot ugive him some defense and he will or could win region player of the year.....so thats why i have to go with bobby on this one cause he plays d and he scores and he averaged a double double this year

and i would agree with that if he played better d i mean how can u win player of the year if u dont play any d................i mean i am not taking anything away from ben he is the best player that i have had to defend all i am saying is that u shouldnt be able to be player of the year if u dont play d and he dont play d

because its high school basketball...coaches voting for POY look for scoring and rebounding over steals blocked shots and other defensive stats other than rebounding...i have hardly seen anyone get put in the paper for scoring 2 points a game but playing great defense...the people mentioned are the ones who score the points...and they will be the ones who win POY

bobby (whatever his last name is) is a good player but, and here is my point. Against the District Champs (Abingdon) he never took over the game when they beat abingdon by 2 and never did anything to keep them in the game when Abingdon beat them by 17. Mulkey had 20 plus in the first game to keep them in the game the first half. And Abingdon shut him down the second half at Richlands. At Abingdon Mulkey had 17 of Richlands 25 first quarter points. Abingdon pulled one out late against Richlands at Abingdon and the game was closes simply because of Mulkey.
