Abingdon & Bassett WILL NOT play their game tonight - it will be tomorrow night at 6:00. **this is stupid to make these kids travel to Abingdon to play? Why not just let them flip a coin and play at one of the home courts or some other random 3rd party school that's not 2 hours away....and Abingdon is not even going to play tonight...there will be 15 people at this game. GMan 3,569 Report Share Posted February 25, 2010 You would think that in these extremely difficult economic times, the VHSL and the Regions would allow these games to be played at a more "centrally located" site...why not East. Mont., Glenvar, or even Northside??? And why are Cave Spring and Martinsville playing at Carroll Co.??? That's a 62 mile trip (one way) for Cave and a 64 mile trip (one way) for Martinsville. Why not at Franklin Co. which is about midway between the two schools on Rt. 220??? Only 22 miles from Cave and 27 miles from Martinsville. Both schools could make the trip and back in less miles than just having to travel to Hillsville. Are women running these tournaments???
