futbolking 766 Report Share Posted June 6, 2011 I think it was for money and to keep the fans in the stands...instead of out in the parking lot...
GMan 3,569 Report Share Posted June 6, 2011 I think it was for money and to keep the fans in the stands...instead of out in the parking lot... The product on the field, not in the concession area, is what's supposed to keep the fans in the stands...and the money coming in, for that matter... Guest The Variable Report Share Posted June 6, 2011 LOL, well that may be the case. I've seen few incidents of that nature at Mountaineer field, when it did, they were escorted out just like any sports complex. Did they escort them past the 3 garbage dumpsters that had been lit on fire? Kids will be kids.

I hope someone points this out as a reason that their tuition should not be increasing this year...
futbolking 766 Report Share Posted June 6, 2011 (edited) The product on the field, not in the concession area, is what's supposed to keep the fans in the stands...and the money coming in, for that matter... The feeling I got from watching Oliver Luck explain the rationale the other day was that they didn't want the fans to leave the stadium at half time to go to their vehicles and drink.....and then return in the 2nd half to cause problems.... Now they can drink in the stands.....and cause problems.... Seriously, though...I think they want to control the amount that people consume. However, I believe those that want to consume too much alcohol will still go to their vehicles, whether they sell beer in the stadium or not.... I think the bottom line here is $$$$....the rationale to curb the out of control fan this way, makes no sense to me, maybe it does to some of you... I like to watch WVU play football, but still think there's no place for alcohol in the stands....or the parking lot for that matter... Deleted Account 5,203 Report Share Posted June 6, 2011 (edited) LOL, really? The worst fans I've ever been around were the snooty goofs of UVA in Charlotte a few years back for a bowl game. Perhaps that was because WVU fans talked a 55-gallon drum of smack, and then proceeded to get their rear-ends stomped. My senior year of high school, I remember it well. My only regret was that UVA didn't hang 50 on you. Crow tastes awfully badly, you know. Edited June 6, 2011 by UVAObserver

My senior year of high school, I remember it well. My only regret was that UVA didn't hang 50 on you. Crow tastes awfully badly, you know. It's true that UVA kicked WVU's butts that day. The only difference is that WVU was on the rise and UVA was on the down slope.
