bucfan64 309 Report Share Posted November 2, 2011 Interesting list of arrests by the Occupy crowd, don't forget that Pelosi and the Prez have both officially endorsed this group. I also should mention that the mainstream media compares this group to the Tea Party movement......I beg to differ. Just goes to show you that the radical left demonstrates and "protests" in a much different manner than the conservative right. Interesting photo at the bottom! vthokies4life 10 Report Share Posted November 2, 2011 Yeah, I don't totally disagree with what the OWSers are trying to do. They're just going about it horribly wrong and it's the wrong group of people trying to do it. I stopped by Zuccotti Park the other day just to see it and it literally stinks. Do they really think people are going to take them seriously if they can't even keep their base clean?

Hacker 82 Report Share Posted November 2, 2011 I see the day when the Occupy folks and the Tea Party folks (those not co-opted by the Republican Party) realize that they have a common enemy. Wall Street and the big corporations control Government and the two parties.

Wall Street and the big corporations control Government and the two parties. Well I think they do see that they have a common enemy, but their ideas of getting around it are polar opposites. Tea Party wants to eliminate the problem altogether by limiting the government that is corrupted by wall street and keeping it from providing the golden parachutes when their gambling habit comes full circle. OWS wants to increase the government regulation (btw that is already not working) and punish the successful for being as rich as the thieves. They allow rich spokespeople to carry their banner which is incredibly hypocritical and although their central theme is punish bankers, the movement is hardly approaching a cohesive group. They remind me of the greek protesters: they got what they wanted years ago and now that its falling apart, they think its someone elses fault. Lets get this clear, the only thing an American is entitled to is what is provided to you by the Constitution. Otherwise, the rest of the country doesnt owe them jack. They are already beyond their constitutional rights to protest. Protesting doesnt include crapping on cars, fighting with police and hidering other peoples ability to work. bucfan64 309 Author Report Share Posted November 2, 2011 (edited) I see the day when the Occupy folks and the Tea Party folks (those not co-opted by the Republican Party) realize that they have a common enemy. Wall Street and the big corporations control Government and the two parties. I agree, unfortunately many in both groups think that the other group is their enemy, when in fact they both have a common enemy. The interesting thing about the Occupy movement is that many participating in the movement are opposed to the "EVIL RICH," yet in a heartbeat they would love to be rich themselves. In other words, many in the movement do not know what they are protesting. In contrast to the TEA PARTY, where many people are self educating themselves about our history, sound fiscal responsibility, the FED and our Founders, many in the OWS movement are just towing the line, because it is the "cool" thing to do. Don't get me wrong, there are many in the Tea Party movement who are just as naive and many have been co-opted by the Republicans. Here are two great videos of Peter Shiff explaining some TRUTHS to some members of OWS http://www.theblaze.com/stories/watch-successful-ceo-and-financial-expert-peter-schiff-take-on-the-99-at-occupy-wall-street/ http://www.theblaze.com/stories/part-2-ceo-peter-schiff-fields-questions-from-occupy-wall-street-protesters/ Edited November 2, 2011 by bucfan64
