graham high golf team

does anyone know how graham did in golf this year. Last i heard was they won the district and that was it from the BDT online. thanks for any info.

Season isn't over. I'd say the MED District Tournament is either Monday or Tuesday next week and the Region C Tournament the following Monday or Tuesday. State Tournament is 10/8-9 at Lonesome Pine in Big Stone Gap.

Graham won the MED tournament at Draper Valley, edging out Galax 335-337. Both schools qualify for the Region tournament to be held next Tuesday at Draper Valley.

Graham also won the MED regular season gold title as well. I think last year the G-Men finished third in state! Go G-Men!

Graham did finish third in the state last year and Galax won it's second consecutive state championship and third in four years.

 

Both teams are considerably down this year from years past as is Region C as a whole. Region C has several talented individual players but not the teams that have dominated the state over the past decade.

 

John Bryant of Galax and Korrey Watts of James River will be on a short list of favorites to win an individual state title. Bryant's brother, Sam, won an individual state title in 2005 and their father, Doug, won state titles in 1975 and 1977. I would love to see John carry on that tradition. He is a great young man.
