I don't think that salesman knew what was happening. I assume the dealership did, but not so much the salesman.

Sorry Ryan, don't want to seem like a know-it-all, but the liability issues alone would be enough to convince me this could never happen without the consent of the passenger. What if the guy had a heart attack? No way this is not staged. Also, a 2009 Camaro? Don't think they made a Camaro in 2009 did they?

Really? That was some terrible acting. I wasnt buying for one second that the "salesman" was not in on the "prank".

Plus the aftermarket cup-holder clipped on the vents that you would normally only find in a semi-truck...it just happened to be perfectly placed so his Pepsi Max could record the salesman. Oh, and not one shot of Gordon actually driving the car. It was certainly a stunt driver and the salesman knew exactly what was happening.

As Bama said, there is no way this is real.

Google it. It's fake.

It turns out that one of the funnies pranks I have seen in a while, that of NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon punking a car salesman and taking him on a wild ride for a Pepsi ad, is completely fake.

As I told you yesterday, the prank features the star driver in disguise, as he cons a seller into letting him go for a testdrive and then showing off his skills as the salesman looks like he is about to faint.

The Independent Tribune of North Carolina reveals that the commercial has been shot at the Troutman Motors and Philip Morris dealership in Concord in February.

Some 75 people were involved in the making of the video, and Gordon didn't even drive the car. Another professional racer, Brad Noffsinger of the Richard Petty Driving Experience replaced Gordon during the stunts.

I think some people at the dealership were in on it but not the salesman...

I must be watching a different video. It seems too obvious to me.

Here is an article that supposedly has an inside source that was onset when the prank was filmed, and they said it was all stages and the salesman was an actor.

Lol I was hoping it was real but once I watched it I could tell it was staged. Still funny though.
