Helmets

Just a reminder, football season is right around the corner and with that teams are always unveiling new bonnets.

MGHelmets.com has stopped updating his high school section unfortunately, but thankfully I've interacted with him enough over the years that I've picked up a few skills of my own. Please send any pictures/logos/updates of helmet designs for your school this year (or any school) as well as any throughout history so I can update my collection linked below.

Thanks!

Here is a Facebook link https://www.facebook.com/HurleyRebels with pictures of the Hurley Rebel football teams over the years. The 1st year of 1951 is on there in black & white with the leather helmets. Some of the pictures are in black and white and some in color. Hurley colors before 1976 were black and orange and black and gold. The colors after 1976 are the red, blue and gray that everybody is use to seeing on Friday. Just by looking at the black & white of some of the early pictures, the helmets might not have been painted. The helmets of the early 70's were gold, not quite like Grundy but a lighter shade of gold. The helmets in the early 80's were red and in the late part of the 80's they were blue. Blue was used up until the mid-90's. Silver, similar to Ohio State, has been the color of choice since the mid 90's. I hope this helps some.

Note for anyone attempting to access Hogoheegee.com, we're working on getting it going.  We're having server issues which will hopefully be resolved in the near future.

For updates about the site you can add me on Twitter, @HogoOnline or if you have questions, email hogo_sportz@yahoo.com.

The helmet links posted above should work though... those are on Tumblr :)

I noticed that Marion and GW are using "spirit stickers" or "award stickers" on their helmets, anyone know what the symbols are?

any other teams using these?

just curious, I like them but not a lot of teams use them

What years did you have the "C"?

There is no gray helmet.  In 1979 you had a white one with "Wave" on the side.  I have pictures of it.

I have pictures of the rest and can vouch for their validity unless you have pictures with dates to prove me wrong.

on the bright side with that picture, it looks like you have a new Pennington helmet to work on HOgo.

This is true.  I didn't think I did until I just looked again and noticed the guy on the ground.

What do you guys think those colors are?

Black helmet

Stripes - white in the middle, gold/yellow on the sides?

Gray masks?

Bobcats outlined in...white/gold/yellow?
