Bluefield_Rules 46 Report Share Posted February 23, 2014 Where does Graham go from here? Will they possibly face Radford at some point? The new playoff system in VA has me confused right now.
Beamerball 566 Report Share Posted February 23, 2014 Regional quarterfinals. Will host Virginia High on Wednesday. The Graham/Va High winner plays the Dan River/Floyd County winner in the semifinals. Richalnds travels to Gate City, and Gretna to Martinsville on the other side of the bracket. The two teams that make it to the finals of the Western Region tourney advance to the 2A State tournament to pair with the two teams out of the Eastern Region tournament. Radford is in 1A and Graham is in 2A so they won't face each other.
starcityfootballfan 517 Author Report Share Posted February 24, 2014 I am disappointed to see the Graham/Virginia High winner in the same bracket as Dan River. I think Dan River is 21-0 at this point. Roanoke Valley press has Dan River as the favorite to win it all this year with Martinsville as a close second! I will not be surprised to see a Dan River/Martinsville final. Good luck to all the Southwest Virginia representatives.
Beamerball 566 Report Share Posted February 24, 2014 Probably not any better to be in Martinsville's side of the bracket.
GMan 3,569 Report Share Posted February 24, 2014 Probably not any better to be in Martinsville's side of the bracket. Martinsville is beatable...going to take a very good effort on an off night for Mavahi, but they are beatable. Dan River, not so much...or at least, no one has been able to yet... starcityfootballfan
Beamerball 566 Report Share Posted February 24, 2014 True. Altavista almost beat them, but couldn't do it. DR also beat GW-Danville which Martinsville couldn't do.
