Bluefield_Rules 46 Report Share Posted March 15, 2014 I would like to listen to the Radford/Altavista title game, but I have no clue what station is carrying it or if it's being broadcasted. When it comes to promoting high school championships Virginia is severely lacking behind, especially compared to WV. WV has its own website dedicated to the state tournament with live stats and audio of every game starting with the quarterfinals. And the new system basketball playoff system is sad in-terms of promotion and atmosphere of something special. I love the WV setup because the state tournament is a four-day showcase of high school basketball and has the feeling of something special. Okay, rant over. I just feel the kids of Virginia deserve more than they are getting right now.

Beamerball 566 Report Share Posted March 15, 2014 At one time, VA did have a page with live updates and stats, along with video and audio feed. They still have video broadcasts, at a price though, as the above post has. A couple of days or so after the game it becomes free for view when its archived. KDCountry 105.5 covers Altavista's games. I assume they'll have the championship game too. Supersports 101.7 covers Radford football games, but I don't know if they carry basketball too. http://www.kdcountry.com/ http://www.supersports1017.com/ Bluefield_Rules
GMan 3,569 Report Share Posted March 15, 2014 I agree with B_R, VA is way behind WV when it comes to promoting the postseason in football and basketball.
Bluefield_Rules 46 Author Report Share Posted March 15, 2014 I appreciate the information. I was aware of the live video, WV uses the same site. However, I'm not interested enough to pay $10. Hopefully, I can listen to the game at one of the links provided.
Bluefield_Rules 46 Author Report Share Posted March 15, 2014 Wow, just realized that WV is streaming the girls' championship games live today for free! Another check in the favor of WV.
Beamerball 566 Report Share Posted March 15, 2014 Usually have to turn the sound down on those video feeds due to the awful announcing. The Gate City/East Rockingham girls semifinal game announcing was pretty painful to listen to.
Deleted Account 5,203 Report Share Posted March 17, 2014 I think Virginia did right well yesterday. Wait...
Bearcat Bob 491 Report Share Posted March 24, 2014 I watched several of the state final games on Comcast TV stations. Are they not broadcast statewide?

Bearcat Bob 491 Report Share Posted March 24, 2014 Too bad...here in Harrisonburg, I watched parts of all the boys games (and all of the Dan River/Bruton game). No commercials either.
