redtiger 1,742 Report Share Posted November 8, 2014 Palmer definitely has them on the right track. I still say the Greenwave roll in this one. But PH wont just lay down. The beauty of this playoff setup is these new match ups
REBELDAD 20 Report Share Posted November 8, 2014 Just for some good discussion I'm looking at Clintwood's schedule and I don't see a team that they beat that they shouldn't have. Kind of like PH except for Northwoods maybe. Yes Clintwood has the winning tradition and history but this PH team has some motivation of their own. You all have played football the way it is was supposed to be played. Great coaching, great young men, great athletes, more heart than others, just wanted to knock the stuffing out of somebody, just wanted to win and great fans! Truly a Gold Standard for your time. Thank you! I have got to meet several of your all's players and moms and dads in recent years mostly at the All Star game and truly enjoyed it. Just good ole country folks. Counts 156 Report Share Posted November 9, 2014 Strength of schedule took a hit when moving to the Cumberland district this year but clintwood is a solid team and this in all likelihood is the last game ever at Ralph Cummings stadium and to beat them in that environment next Saturday will be a tough task for any team in the west
cavdaddy 25 Report Share Posted November 9, 2014 I want to go ahead and congratulate Clintwood on winning this contest. I just don't think it will be a game.
REBELDAD 20 Report Share Posted November 9, 2014 The chances of PH winning could be 1 in 10 but they have a chance. Not gonna get into a back and forth with a PH hater. cowboys#1fan, Plywood_King and HurricaneWarning
hhstigers7327 217 Report Share Posted November 9, 2014 Haven't seen ph this year but it seems to me they are on the up swing. I have seen Clintwood and I think ph has a very good chance. Clintwood has the two play makers at wide out but in my opinion keep the ball away from them and you have a real good chance. The running back runs hard but don't have that breakaway ability. AND Clintwood was upset last year.
REBELDAD 20 Report Share Posted November 9, 2014 After what these young men have been through this past year making the playoffs and getting the chance to play a team like Clintwood is icing on the cake dshreeves
mriguy74 74 Report Share Posted November 9, 2014 cavdaddy sounds a little sore about their season. PH has a good chance to win this game. CHEEZE CURL
redtiger 1,742 Report Share Posted November 9, 2014 I would say 1 out of 10 is about right REBELDAD, but like you said thats a chance. In football, you never know
dshreeves 37 Report Share Posted November 9, 2014 cavdaddy remembers a trip to Clintwood in November of 2008. Clintwood 41, Holston 0 at the end of 3 quarters that day. CHEEZE CURL and coachm

fastpitch7 31 Report Share Posted November 10, 2014 Clintwood 28 PH 7. I don't know who all PH has played but I doubt that they have had their pads popped like they are going to get at Clintwood. I was impressed with the heart and hitting of the Wave ( All clean hard hits ) They will play hard for 4 quarters.
REBELDAD 20 Report Share Posted November 10, 2014 Took a beat down from Marion after some early turnovers and lost to a good GW team after jumping out to an early lead.

Plywood_King 518 Report Share Posted November 10, 2014 I wouldn't be surprised at all if the Rebs upset the Wave. They have improved tremendously as the season has progressed, but consistency has been an issue for PH. At the risk of using a cliche, it will be interesting to see which Rebel team shows up at Ralph Cummins this weekend.
Counts 156 Report Share Posted November 10, 2014 The PH game I can't figure out is there loss to Thomas walker as a fan that has never seen them play that loss on it's own makes me wonder what kind of team they are Btw can anyone tell me what type of offense and defense PH runs
FALCON 21 Report Share Posted November 10, 2014 PH is very solid but not very deep. They have a great QB, RBs and 3 or 4 really good receivers. They also have one of the better tight ends in the area. Their O line is solid but not very deep. Defensively they are very sound. Very, Very good MLB. They are very balanced as far as run/pass. with both QB and RB well over 1000 yds. They might get overwhelmed but I could see them winning. BigO 316 Report Share Posted November 10, 2014 I agree Falcon. Wright is a great QB.....very sound, accurate and cerebral. Humphrey kinda came out of nowhere (to me, at least) to be a real threat. I think PH has a real shot at beating Clintwood. If the Oline can give Wright time and make some holes for Humphrey then this will be a real game. I think PH pulls it out....20-14. redtiger 1,742 Report Share Posted November 10, 2014 I kinda side with Counts here, how does a team with a "great QB", "one of the better tight ends in the area" a " Very, Very good MLB" and "3 or 4 really good receivers" lose to TW? I know a lot can change over the course of a season but TW? really?
BlueRazor 1,147 Report Share Posted November 10, 2014 I will leave it up to you guys who know the teams. Me being a fan of SWVA football just have to pull for the Wave in this one. With all the tradition and success they have had....I would just love to see them close it out on a winning note.
