Unchained 587 Report Share Posted October 6, 2015 So Grundy plays us in hurricane weather last Friday night, but we move our game to Thursday because of weather concerns, and 2 days prior we THINK it might rain? Seriously? Are we playing football or hopscotch? GEEZ! It's not like a little rain is going to hurt OUR BRAND NEW TURF field (rolls eyes)

Unchained 587 Author Report Share Posted October 6, 2015 Yep-like it was at Grundy last week
Beamerball 566 Report Share Posted October 7, 2015 Last week was no hurricane. Not debating whether or not anyone should move their games this week but there is a slight chance for a strong to severe storm Friday afternoon/evening. Another round of rain might develop in the evening/night into Sat. morning.
Unchained 587 Author Report Share Posted October 7, 2015 Last week the threat of Joquin (or however it was spelled) was more serious than this threat, and the game was played. It's crazy to me that football games get rescheduled nowadays. It would be different if it were a marching band competition, but to not play "a tough man's sport" because of anything other than lightening is sad. Did you say slight chance? :)
Beamerball 566 Report Share Posted October 7, 2015 Just throwing out the forecast, that's all man, not arguing one way or another. And yeah, a "marginal" risk for strong storms. http://www.spc.noaa.gov/products/outlook/ By the way, actually it was another system that was affecting us last week, not the hurricane, but that's another subject entirely and not important, haha. Beamerball 566 Report Share Posted October 8, 2015 Remember, it's not just about playing in the rain...there's this thing called lightning, we seen the delays/cancellations that brought about earlier in the season.
50kw 140 Report Share Posted October 8, 2015 It's all about the gate ($) intake that props up all the other non revenue sports. Ryan4VT
VHSLhelper 571 Report Share Posted October 8, 2015 There was no threat of Wah-Queen in Grundy last week. Like most of the KY border counties, we were in the 1"-2" of rain zone. Curious as to why the team came thru Richlands instead of Haysi last week - going south just increased the rain they might hit,
