SWVAgridiron 1,469 Report Share Posted August 20, 2016 The Spartans marched up to Mitchell Stadium and were too much for the Beavers. Hats off to Bluefield backfield, a lot of talent back there but a lot of poor sportsmanship as well. Well done Giles!
futbolking 766 Report Share Posted August 20, 2016 How did it end up? ....and I saw this post coming.... Glad to see Giles did well, they may be better than some were thinking down that way. Does anybody know if Collier is o.k.? That kid is awesome, would hate to see him get hurt. First class all the way.

Deleted Account 5,203 Report Share Posted August 20, 2016 Surprising result, but I'm really looking forward to seeing Graham play both these programs. T-7 days. futbolking, Mountain Football and GMan
bhs7695 185 Report Share Posted August 20, 2016 Can't say I'm surprised as I wasn't sure Bluefield had fixed the issue from last year and they haven't from what I saw. If Collier plays Friday I doubt he'll be anywhere near 100%.
Hokiebird7 1,416 Report Share Posted August 20, 2016 I was impressed with my Spartans tonight. Thought we played very physical and the OL did a great job. But I have to say Bluefield is very soft on the OL and DL...they will win games simply because they can absolutely fly. This was as good a test in a scrimmage Giles has had in quite a while. But it was just a benefit game so i'm not putting too much into it. We still have work to do as most teams do at this point but I like the way we are headed if we continue to get better each week. Our kids competed hard and that's all I wanted to see...this should give them some confidence for sure but a long season awaits starting next week at Blacksburg against a very good offensive Bruins team. But Giles definitely wasn't scared of the big 2 at Bluefield as someone stated earlier in the week And the one kid for Bluefield was dirty(#10 I believe but don't quote me on the number)...oh well it's over and it's now time for the money games
jeffab20 13 Report Share Posted August 22, 2016 Giles always seems to have a good team been a fan of their program for awhile after I watched them when I was a kid play John battle good luck this season
