BandanaVTDavis4321 1,717 Report Share Posted January 22, 2022 At the end of the 1st qtr, it's Radford 9, Graham 2. Graham again without its best player in Graves. Graham's issue is shooting. The NFHS camera showed Graham warming up in their shoot around for about 4 minutes. I counted how many shots went in from beyond the 3 point line. It was roughly 1 in 3, or about 33 percent. That's 33 percent from behind the three point line shooting wide open, in warmups, with no pressure, no defender on you. You can imagine what that percentage drops when the game starts with a defender in front of you. Just by watching this first quarter, it seems that when Graham misses, they don't just miss. The shot really isn't even close to going in the basket. There's just no other way to put it man. They just don't shoot the ball very well, but boy are the G-Men scrappy. Much like football, you aren't going to out tough em. They battle, but they just can't put the ball in the basket.
BandanaVTDavis4321 1,717 Author Report Share Posted January 23, 2022 At halftime, it's Radford 21, Graham 4. I have Graham shooting 2 for 15 from the field in the first half which is roughly 14% from the field in the first half.
Real Sasquatch 1,865 Report Share Posted January 23, 2022 If anybody finds the final score for this, please post. NFHS feed went out at halftime. Not sure why Graves has been out, but they can't get anything going without him. Poor shooting, poor passing. Defense played well, but they couldn't hit the side of a barn. F@lcon 47 Report Share Posted January 23, 2022 I said this after Abingdon played this at beginning of season. Graves is really good but the rest of the team is football players playing basketball. Quick, athletic, and scrappy but poor fundamentals and shooting. Without Graves they can’t score enough to beat any good teams. 1 hour ago, Real Sasquatch said: If anybody finds the final score for this, please post. NFHS feed went out at halftime. BigWinners 1,643 Report Share Posted January 25, 2022 Graves was back tonight as Graham beat Marion by five IIRC, it was either 65-60 or 64-
