  1. Why would "Everyone" be happy or unhappy? I think most people are content and "happy" with equality or simply playing in the classification that you truly have in your school.
  2. It's down to a 3 point predicted win by Calpreps after today. Honaker 31, Galax 28. That score tightened quick. Other scores predicted, Essex 24, Galax 22. Honaker 33, Essex 31. Essex 31, Altavista 24.
  3. No contest. Great show by Princeton to make it to the title game, but no way with Martinsburg. Whole other level.
  4. Officiating in this game since talked about. 1. It's NEVER "the entire crew." Its usually only 1, maybe, maybe 2. 2. Graham can't cheat Union, and Union can't cheat Graham. The people of Big Stone Gap didn't gather as a town with the student body and players and coaches and set down with the officials and decide, "we will cheat Graham.' The Union coaches, players, fans have nothing to do with a call on the field regarding "planning." What can happen? You can have one bad apple with bad intent. I stick to that opinion tonight. The back judge, one guy, not "the crew," not "Union," not " Turner," but 1 guy with bad intent. I stand by the post. He tried to influence the games outcome, period. I have my opinion and I'm sticking to it. I didn't write any plural...no officials, not Union, but singular.....the back judge. I rewinded NFHS. Huff got there early in the endzone on the no call pass interference. The Union announcers felt that was the case. At the opposite end, the pass interference call by the same official on Graham that gave Union the extra chance. It was nothing close to pass interference and the Union announcers kind of felt the same. These 2 calls are game changing. Sure, we can pick out the hold or facemask or this or that, but it's about the timing of a flag and where it's thrown and by whom and does it effect or can it greatly effect the outcome? Those 2 calls were huge and they were blatent in my opinion. Overall, the rest of the officials did a good job. It wasn't a horse collar on Clements. The call was correct. The holding call on Graham at the one late in the first half was 50-50, but kind of legit. It happened on the opposite side of the play, didn't effect the play, but the Graham player literally tackled the kid. That's a hold. Just my opinions, and the back judge in this game gets an F. The rest of the crew gets a B. There is no such thing as Team A cheating team B. There is also no such thing as the "Officials cheating," as in....the entire crew. That's rare. But, if you think bad apples don't exist, then better check again. As human beings, we have people in every field or profession that largely have good intentions, but we have a few (very few) bad apples in every profession, field, or past time from Doctors to Lawyers to Judges to Plumbers to Nurses to electricians to preachers to husbands and wives that cheat on one another, and all of a sudden, we think that somehow every official in the world undergoes complete moral clarity and 100% morality for the 48 minutes he takes the field to call a game? Naive....brothers....naive.
  5. Coaches improve like players. It's pretty darn clear both coaches and their coordinators have improved over the years. That's my opinion anyway. What Union was doing offensively with those different sets was high level stuff. It's not just the talent each team has that really causes problems for GC, Tazewell, and Ridgeview to try and close the gap in 2D, but it's the coaching also. It's as clear as day. It was a freaking chess game out there. With Clements, it again shows what a Div 1 player can do to a HS football game. They just flip it on its head. The lick he took from Chandler was one of the harder locks I've seen this year on the long TD run in the first half and he somehow not only didn't go down, but he bolted down the sidelines for a a TD.
  6. Credit Graham. I'm surprised Union lost. 100%. Playing down there and with Union's ability on the LOS and athletically, very shocked. I thought the game would get away from Graham and Union would win by 13 to 16 points. Going to be much more Union and Graham action in the next 2 years..or more
  7. Ballgame. Union can't stop the clock now. No timeouts
  8. Incredible throw and catch by Anderson to Huff. Again, makes Union different in 2023. Couldn't do that in years past.
  9. Can someone tell the coaches there is still 7 minutes left in the game and not 1 minute left in the game. WTH man? They burning more Big Cherry Red Timeouts than a bleach haired blonde in an 80s heavy metal video.
  10. Formations, sets just different offensively all around for Union and an A plus job by Turner offensively in 2023 and notice the QB when a WR is open? Ball directly thrown to the chest.
  11. Start of 4th qtr, Graham 20, Union 16. Bears ball just passed midfield, 2nd and 7.
  12. 4th qtr. Martinsburg exploded in the 2nd half. Leads 49-26 over Huntington after trailing 10-7 at halftime. Princeton vs Martinsburg for WV AAA state title.
  13. QB for Union is some kind of special tough. He's just not going to let the Bears lose. What a player
  14. Nope, the outcome of whether Union or got it or not on the next play doesn't change the pisspoor call the play before. That doesn't justify the call, which was pathetic.
  15. LMAO. Officials aren't involved here guys? Yes, this is intentional and Union announcers on NFHS even agree. Yep, no longer accidental, that 4 for 4 game changing calls. Union doesn't need the help, but they are taking the game from Graham. This is a joke, period.
  16. Just my opinion here with Union up 16-13. I could be dead wrong and often am. This game is going to get bad, and what we are seeing is exactly what Radford will experience when they play Union.
  17. 4th and 1 at own 29. That equals zero respect for Grahams D. Union hasn't punted. They aren't going to punt either.....unless they get holding calls or turnovers and it's exactly what will happen down at Radford.
  18. Congrats Tigers on 1D title. Heck of a football team for sure.
  19. Union is clutch. Hasn't missed a 3rd or 4th down conversion and it's because of the QB. Said this from game 3, he's the difference in Union 2023 and the past. Heck of a player is Anderson. Tough as nails and kid is clutch. The OL, Chandler and the rest are solid, but Anderson is the glue.....or the nail
  20. Officials miss calls. It happens. Is Graham getting cheated? NO. Do some officials literally cheat? They absolutely do.
  21. I do. I don't know about far superior, but superior
  22. The one missed was the pass interfernce by Union in the endzone. Thst would have put the ball back at the 1 for Graham after the "weird" holding call on a straight dive from the 1 (which I've never seen in my life), but I recommend rewinding NFHS for those watching. It wasn't 50-50. It wasn't even close. The Union defender was on his back in the endzone. That cost Graham 7 points and the back judge was within 3 yds, within 9 feet of the play.
