  1. I challenge everyone with NFHS to go watch the last two minutes of regulation in the first half. I have never seen anything this comical.
  2. Osborne with a 9-yd QB keep for 6. XP is good. Marion 9, Grayson 0, :26 left in half
  3. Grayson QB cant handle snap in end zone, safety for Marion. This has been a beautifully disgusting masterpiece thus far. Marion 2, Grayson 0, 2:09 left in 1st half
  4. Marion is playing Grayson at Marion's Homecoming. Stephen James, Marshall Doss, and Tim Smith are all coaching in the game and Steve Wright is on the Marion sideline with Fellowship of Christian Athletes duties. All of whom are participating in an impromptu 20 year reunion of Marion's 2001 State Tournament team (Wright and James were coaches, Smith and Doss were players).

  6. GC is going to have to block their tails off, and Marion is going to have to limit turnovers. Marion's front 7 is very stout and is more than capable of catching Jenkins in the backfield, but if he gets to the second level, forget about it, he's gone. Meanwhile, Marion has to establish a run game to take the load off of the passing game. Marion has excellent receivers, but if you're forced to run four verticals on every 3rd down due to being shut down on first and second, it makes the defense's job easy. I think it'll be a very entertaining high-scoring game, just maybe not a "68-40" level high scoring game like last year.

  8. I swear I'm not trying to be argumentative; I really don't have the slightest of clues as to what's going on at VA High other than what I've been told, so you're as likely to be correct as anything else I've heard, but Keith Perrigan is saying there were three positive tests in a public press release on behalf of Bristol City Schools. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=4387421951339568&id=468912466523889&m_entstream_source=timeline
  9. The press release from Perrigan stated that there are three positive tests. They could all be coaches, I don't know, but it doesn't seem to be as simple as a coach got covid, quarantined, and no one else got it.
  10. The correct answer is @Plywood_King, however, I did take 107 on my way out. Never trust a U-Haul on 16.
  11. "What's the best thing to come out of Saltville?..."
  12. I was very optimistic about Lebanon's potential in the Hogo after their season last year, but goodness gracious, that's out the window at this point. It would certainly appear that this is going to be long season for the 'neers.
  13. Marion 36, Northwood 14, Final Hats off to Northwood for playing and finishing this one. I don't care that Marion is down, there is no reason why Northwood, with 13 healthy players, should be playing a 2A school with 47 players. Smith showed a lot of class in his decision making, but until Northwood's numbers improve, this series needs to go back to being in hiatus. This was the most awkward game I've ever seen in my life; the final score doesn't indicate what a horribly unfair mismatch it was.
  14. Marion 36, Northwood 7, end of the 3rd. Marion running JV, Northwood moved from Wing-T to standard I-formation. The coaches, players, and fans all agree, this stadium can't empty fast enough.
  15. 2nd half under way in Marion. Coaches have chosen to forgo the "35 point rule" and begin continuous clock. Marion's 29 point advantage and Northwood's lack of players is good enough. Panthers down to 13 healthy players.
  16. That team name isn't inaccurate. There are a lot more people from Rich Valley sitting on the Marion side than the Northwood side.
  17. Marion up 27-7 over Northwood. Northwood started the game with 16 players, lost one to injury, and has another laying on the grass.
  18. Abingdon Radford Graham Holston Union Marion Tazewell Virginia Rye Cove Galax George Wythe Grayson County Chilhowie Phelps Twin Valley Lebanon Unaka, TN Princeton Illinois Ohio St. Pittsburgh Virginia Tech Iowa West Virginia Marshall Miami Washington Buffalo Tennessee Kansas City Green Bay Los Angeles Rams GotW Central 56
  19. Chilhowie was without their starting runningback, which, if anyone knows anything about Chilhowie, should have been enough to spot Burton 14 points. I don't know that it's a condemnation against Burton, or if Chilhowie is that much improved.
  20. Marion attempts an obviously impossible FG on 4th and goal. It falls five yards deep in the end zone. Still 35-7
  21. 35-7 Central over Marion at halftime. Contrary to what the score would indicate, Marion played some pretty good defense. The offense is a liability to have on the field.
  22. Our former coach in Pennington Gap would like a word.
