  1. Carter is a very nice pick up for RU. Im sure he will be a much bigger impact player coming in that Mac would have been and you guys should be thrilled that you filled a big need. But it seems like Macs decommittment rustled some jimmies of fans....obviously. I'm well aware how it works though.....its the usual college fan base reaction. "Hes gonna be a stud and do big things and have RU rocking" while he's committed and literally a day later after he decommits "he's not impressive at all....not sure why Pikiell went after him". It boggles the mind.
  2. McClung just received 2 more offers from Boston College and Seton Hall. I think some bigger name schools that whiffed on Top 100 players will start to check out Mac. https://mobile.twitter.com/McclungMac/status/918263022270976006/photo/1 https://mobile.twitter.com/McclungMac/status/918262893484929024/photo/2
  3. pretty sure I've seen one already EH31. Looks almost the same as last year except for GC picked up a game against Cleveland, TN i think. Pretty sure Knox Christian Academy signed up for another game again this year. I'll try to find it and post it
  4. yea.....you guys are welcome. Almost every coach I know patrols messages boards looking for all the right answers to stop opposing players. I've given everyone in the state of VA the keys to the Cadillac all in one post. If I was a Radford coach and met against GC I'd scheme everything around the info I've provided here within these messages......enjoy. lol
  5. Ive never proclaimed that they were the Georgetown of old and they arent....but it's still a big time offer nonetheless. I'm not sold at all that Ewing will be successful and I myself believe I would have taken the staff at RU over Georgetown if I was the one choosing....but that's me. I feel like Pikiell would ultimately be the better coach for McClung in the long run to help develop him. I also find it strange that Mac was sold on RU and then he went and visited in Jersey for the MidKnight Madness and then shortly after decommitted. It's hard to tell what even happened on his trip. It's possible that Mac thought he was gonna get to play immediately and after he visited recently they told him that they wanted him to redshirt and he wasn't having it. Or it's possible they purposely pushed him away by telling him that just to get him to decommit to open up another scholarship for a 4 or 5 type player which they need more than a PG. Or it could be nothing more than Mac just wants to go somewhere else and he's hearing from other schools so he backed off his pledge. There may be other schools aside from the Hoyas that are making a push....but that was crazy timing for him to decommit and then the next day Ewing and the whole crew to come to Macs home. I'm obviously just spit-balling here and have no clue as to what even happened....im sure it will come out in a few weeks. Time will tell and I wish noting but the best for Mac. Hope wherever he chooses it's the best fit for him.
  6. https://mobile.twitter.com/LenMcClung/status/916843462129078272/photo/1 I think this pretty much answers the questions to Macs decommittment.
  7. Not nearly as bad as saying "were not gonna win without Mac". If either of Ervin or Mac goes down GC will struggle some. And if you'll notice in my post I said I talked to the man in charge......what i said came from the man himself. Mac has to improve his defense but as a coach, you gotta use your brain when your bench is thin and that's what Vermillion did last year. The message conveyed to the players was "we want to win a title and this is our best shot".....nothing more nothing less. it's really that simple.
  8. I've spoke with the man in charge and that's exactly what they did with McClung last year. He was essentially given 1 freebie foul but after he landed his 2nd foul he wasnt to even so much as look at an offensive player because it was obvious the team couldn't afford for him to be in foul trouble. This may not have been the case against some of the lesser competition but with teams that had a pulse this was the case. McClung was turned loose when he was a sophomore and was very aggressive on defense because there was other players to get the job done. He was very aggressive then but also stayed in foul trouble. Was a huge difference between last year and his sophomore year on how he played D.
  9. I understand that someone else has probably came calling......but the incoming class for Rutgers was looking impressive. I actually thought he might stick with the pledge and try to play for a team that's on the rise and be a big part of helping put them on the map.
  10. I know it's because I'm from GC that it helps for me to remember him....but I can't believe someone hasn't mentioned Josh Shoemaker yet. Kid was a brute and went on to play at Wake and played in the Euro league for a while. Was a legit big man but wasnt used as such at GC. Would say he has to be one of the best that's came from this area. I would have to say McClung is definitely the best since those guys and it's not even close. Would also say hes got to be in the conversation of being the best ever from SWVA.
  11. Will be real interesting to see how much Mac has improved his senior year.
  12. Brady Porter with the onside kick for GC and he recovers his own kick. GC ball all tied up at 14-14 in the 2nd qtr.
  13. 14-14 GC and South Tied up after a 67 yard run by Maxwell for GC.
  14. GC has been bit by the turnover bug once again. 2 fumbles in the first half keeping points off the board for the Devils. Need a score starting the 2nd half.
  15. I'll say Richlands 34-14. GC ends up plaguing themselves with TOs again when Richlands loads the box and GC has to pass the ball.
  16. Since I didn't hear mention of him being at school today on the board.....im guessing it never materialized.
  17. Ron Harper Jr. committed yesterday to RU. Now by looking at the numbers it doesnt seem like they will be in the mix for Carey....at least it doesn't seem that way. The Knights have assembled a very solid class so far.....Top 10 and should be higher after the commit today from Harper. Pikiell and staff are putting in major work it seems and the kids are evidently buying into it. I think they go after 1 big and finish out their class.
  18. I just don't see it happening....sure hope I'm wrong. Scottie did say Oscar was a super kid though and as genuine as they come. He's just tired of Mountain Mission. GC would need another 1000 seats added to their gym before season if he comes lol. The crowd is already crazy.....adding someone like that would bring people from all over to catch a game or two and the ticket sales would stop an hour and a half before each game. BUT.....dont think it happens.
  19. The Honaker kids are all but a done deal and will be playing for GC from what i gathered. The other kid definitely wants to play with Mac. I figured he would probably end up staying with Macs family if it happened....but you heard he already is staying with a family? But just like coach said to me....i just don't see it happening. Even If the rumors start to swell and it's all but a done deal I will still play the "believe it when I see it" game on this one. If it does happen it will make things rough on anyone that plays GC that tries to go into the painted area....thats a guarantee.
  20. Pickell has been at all of Macs summer games that he could attend and made Mac a priority in this class. He has stressed over and over that Mac will be his star true PG and that he needed him to help build their program. Now, seeing how Rutgers recruiting is playing/has played out, I see why Mac has chosen to play there. RU for the time being has a Top 10 recruiting class with Mathis, Mamadou, and McClung. They could put together a special team in a year or two if Pickell and staff continue putting together such strong recruiting classes. And I think there also may be something to do with the Adidas connection with these players, their traveling teams, and RU as well. I had the chance to talk with the Scottie V. recently and get some information about Macs decision. He also explained some of the talks about the transfers coming to GC that we've discussed on here too. The kid that was rumored to come to GC that no one would mention his name.....if he in fact does come it would be a huge pickup. Don't really think its going to happen but the kid definitely doesnt want to continue playing at the private school he is at right now and he's been hanging out with Mac for the past week or two around the GC area. So.....who knows what will happen there.
  21. i agree...it does happen alot. I just for some reason figured he would at least ride the process out until say December or January and commit in the early part of the season. I think its a great idea for kids to commit and get the process over with where they can focus on playing stress free with their teammates and focus on academics their final year. Judging by the visits and timely commitment dates set by some of the other recruits Rutgers were in on, it seems like Mac may have been a silent commit to RU already.
  22. wouldn't have expected him to commit with a year left.....but nonetheless congrats to him. still a long ways to go and kids change their minds alot. never know where he will end up when it's all said and done.
  23. Congrats to Zac on his performance during July and improving his chances at making a bigger splash into the national recruiting scene. Kid has the potential to really blossom over the next 2 years. https://mobile.twitter.com/zacervin23/status/892201234165354496/photo/1
  24. Would really like to see Mitchell land at VT with the teams he has narrowed it down to. It would be interesting to see how Fuente would showcase him in their offense.
