Regardless of what Grayson Co has in personnel, RC has something better... one of, if not the, best coaching staffs in the area when it comes to total football experience. If it's possible, they will find a way to win. Sometimes the Jimmy and Joes are too good to out scheme and maybe that's the case here, but if anyone can do it, it's the staff for the Eagles.

I'm not worried about this. I know 2 coaches, unaffiliated with the program currently, that would step in and not miss a beat. One was already lined up and ready to start in case Travis got the DB or Tennessee High job.

Very possible.

Generally speaking, I would agree with this. However, some school districts have designated buildings for special needs students. I remember a time when PV Primary students were on Appalachia Elementary's roster because they were bussed there during the day. At some point they were moved back to PV for enrollment purposes. I know of a school district that has a completely fictitious school in their system because they house a virtual K-12 academy that has students across Virginia. None of which are in their district. I've seen some crazy and sometimes shady stuff in my 25 years in public education.

Guess it comes down to how Russell county is handling them. They may already be counted at Castlewood or Honaker for enrollment purposes. They might all be counted at Lebanon. That would be a question for administration. Trust me, they can handle this anyway they want.
-
I can tell you with 100% certainty that special needs students count towards enrollment IF Lebanon HS is considered their home school. If they are bussed from another school, that school should be listed as their home school. If they are bussed directly from their house to Lebanon HS, well, that's a problem for Lebanon High. There's another way around this. Designate a building as the "Alternative/Special needs center", make that their home school, then bus them to Lebanon HS.

Why does Va play there playoff games on Sat afternoons?

That's what they initially posted, but I think they have since changed it. -

VHSL mandates Saturday at 2pm for semifinals. Not sure why. The regional game times are up to the teams. Best I remember from the 80s and 90s, all playoff games were on Saturday afternoons. As a kid, I just assumed it was a rule or something. I prefer Friday nights myself. -
IDK about Ridgeview, but I've given up trying to figure Turner out. That level of head scratching is beyond me.

You can't have rational conversations with irrational people. It's impossible.

For the unlearned Union fans that are posting on social media that people are attacking the players on this forum. First, please read the posts. You will not find anyone attacking players. Secondly, learn about football. Don't have to be an expert. Just enough to understand the basic concepts. Then, you will understand that Union has a COACHING problem. NOT a player problem. Lastly, stop twisting calls for new play calling and/or a new head coach into attacks on players. That is simply not happening. For all the players...past, current and future...the Union community couldn't be prouder of your work, dedication and effort you display, not only in games, but all year around. Anyone saying otherwise really needs to keep their mouth shut. Anyone with a basic understanding of the game of football and half a brain can see what the issue is. And we KNOW it isn't the players.

From the very small amount of film I've watched of Glenvar, the QB is legit. He's tall and is built like the stereotypical pocket passing QB. Strong, accurate arm. WRs run good routes. That's it. He doesn't appear to be a rushing threat. Glenvar doesn't seem to have much of a running game. I don't see them scoring many points on Graham. So, can Graham's offense score enough points to win the game? They may only need 1 or 2 TDs.

Doing things that make zero sense since 2011.
-
Me too, and I agree. If nothing else, the play calling needs to handled by someone else.
-
Congratulations to the GMen. Sorry Turner can't get his head out of his butt long enough to give you guys a good game. I don't think the outcome was much of a surprise to most people. I really think these 2 teams were very even, but the coaching is 100% in favor of Graham. Good luck against Glenvar!

Some people checked out this year. I know a group that's been sitting in the same spot since the 80's. They said they'd had enough.
-
Yes. This is who Turner is. He won't change. Refuses to.
-
He won't do. Turner plays to NOT lose. He never plays to win. Only exception. Richlands 2014. Glenvar 2015.

Lol Now you see what we've been screaming about!

I can't blame you. I bought some extra gear yesterday to hopefully help. Otherwise, I guess I'll freeze my giblets off. Lol

I can't speak to RC, but the horns you hear on the Union broadcast are those little battery powered, drill looking horns. Several fans have those. I think they seem loud because they're close to the press box. The BIG train horn isn't blown in live ball situations anymore since the VHSL changed the rule.

This was quite the entertaining game last night. I do agree that Eastside had the opportunity to win by 1 or 2 TDs, but those fumbles shot themselves in the foot. Credit to the players and coaching staff for turning this game around from the regular season matchup with several chances to win it. Congratulations to the Eagles for a great season and becoming region champions.

I thought you were going to be in Bluefield tomorrow?
