It is now posible that not only will Honaker miss it is possible that Hurley does too. Hurley must beat Auburn to assure a spot. Honaker with a win over Northwood will help. Rural Retreat will be a factor with either a forfoet for Bland or playing 9 and dividing by 9 they may slip in at 8. If twin springs wins last two they go in also.
Honaker should get at 8 if they beat Northwood. If they upset PH or Ridgeview it is a lock and seded higher. Even losses to PH and RV they will pick up quite a few points.
Thank you. But the PV RC game was actually a very good game. If i am not mistaken RC led for a good portion before PV scored two TD in the 4th and won like 32-14.
If memory serves me right there has been several times that a team went 9-1 and did not make the playoffs because another team won their own district with a 55 or 6-4 record. The owers to be decided that power points should determine who gets in not a district championship. I do bekeive that Honaker was caught in that trap in the early part of 2000 went 9-1 or 8-2 and was left out because they played a weaker schedule. Worth a look to see if I remeber correctly
I was refering to the fact that at one time before Coach Wright Battle won 10 games in 10 years. I was attempting to give credit to the Battle folks and the respect the program has gathered over the past few years.
When it rains it pours. hearing backup QB has concussion. I am sure Coach Ricker and his staff will build this program and fight through the rough patches.
Really? So Padgett and Russell runs those teams? I thought Robinson and Rhodes were the head coaches? I guess Coach Russell should be in line for the next head coaching job that opens in the area or take over if Coach Robinson ever decides to step down.
Sir I can assure you that Galax and Coach Dixon was not who I was referring to. So that just leaves one other team. It is interesting that a fan from Glade Spring could get a state semifinal moved.
That is not true. Chilhowie was denied the home game and would not play at Emory. Great discussion but the admin at both schools know the truth but I am sure they are not on here reading the discussion.
Looking at both schedules if they both stay healthy and continue to improve that is very likely t happen. Have to give the Chilhowie staff and players a great deal of credit of picking up where they left off. But Ph better focus on Hurley because they seem to have an outstanding team.
Burton plays in the cumberland which I am guessing is the teams that is in question over the last several years. I think we as fans put too much stock into season schedules. In 1A and even 2A 1 injury can change a season and the real key to playoff success is the health of a team. Chilhowie has played a tough schedule and they have had great success. I wonder what their playoff record would look like over the last 10 years?
PH playoff record 5-6 over last 18 years Not sure about the strength of schedule but the teams that bounced the Rebels looks to be the same teams that bounced everyone else.
2018 2-1 lost to state finalist Chilhowie
2017 1-1 Lost to Burton (respected program)
2016 1-1 Lost to GW (lost is state semi)
2015 0-1 upset first round by Bland
2014 1-1 Lost to Galax ( Best 1 A program west side)
Guys Jimbo doesn't strike me as this type of a guy. But 3,200 signatures? and he was moved to the elementary/middle school. Doesn't sound good for his health.

With the talent level on both sides if both stay healthy it could be repeat of last year. Playing again in 4 weeks.
