Alternating between Region C and D every year. Both Region D teams made it last year. Since Graham was the 1 seed, they had the choice as to where GC/Graham game was to be played. If both Region D teams make it to the Semifinals this year, GC would have the choice over Graham since they are the 1 seed and nobody from Region C made it.

I agree, win the Region you get to pick, it’s only fair.

Why can’t Wise Central girls play at Virginia High? It works both ways. GC won the Region D, it’s their choice, sorry but that’s how it goes. My opinion is that boys and girls should play on separate days because of this issue. Plus GC historically does not play well at UVA-Wise, not sure why, it’s probably a mental block. That’s why GC was tickled when Graham wanted the State Semifinal game at Tazewell last year. But Gate City has won some historic games at VHS in the past. Good choice by Scotty, Brent, and all involved to have it at the Bearcat Den. Most GC fans much rather travel to VHS vs UVA-Wise. Plus having just 2 games at each venue will keep fans from arguing over seating and parking.

So what punishment did the 2 kids serve 2 years ago when they put McClung in the mat with malicious intent?

We gotta remember that Ervin hadn’t played a game in 4 weeks, the responsibility of each GC player had changed, now Ervin is back and GC is trying to make things flow again. Plus, Ervin did not play well, which is expected. I wished we gave him minutes here and there last week knowing he would be off a little. It would’ve been some time to find himself before the win or go home situation. No doubt Gate City will bring the A game tomorrow.

And who is to say that it wasn’t their plan vs Dean last Friday? They had a literal body on him from tip. Pushing, shoving, tripping, holding. Dean went to the line in what felt like 10 times before the end of the half. I’ve never seen Dean hit the floor that many times. Just watch out, if they beat Richlands (better Ryan?) they’ll be out to hurt Ervin and/or Dean. First time something questionable happens, the place will erupt.

It seems to me you defend the actions of your good friend McAnus and how his team continues going after opposing players and how McAnus showed sportsmanship by not shaking Scotty’s hand and told him and the GC team, “it won’t be that easy next Friday” Until then, it’s probably in your best interest to move on and get some fresh air. Ervin will play from here on out for GC, Vermillion even hinted it post game to the media on the timeline for Ervin, Scotty said, “come to the games next week”. He looked really good in warmups, no brace or compression sleeves when warming up. His dunking ability looks better than it did during early season. Good thing we held him out as stupid wide open as WC played.

I heard last night that it’s the SWD’s choice (Graham), and they want it at Graham of course.
