Everyone is over hyping Graham. They got a good WR and RB, a decent QB. They will be weaker on D this year. Lost a good athlete to Bluefield. They will be good, but will not make it out of region D. Whoever is clicking better between Union and Richlands will represent our Region. Richlands will be better on D this year, but the offense is still a mystery. Probably more of a running game this year. Union has the best player in the state, a solid QB and always a running game. With a good Defense. Gate City will surprise many people also. Hope I'm right anyways.

Hey Ryan, Just curious, who is the other running back I hear Richlands is going to be running a lot this year other than James White. I saw him out there the other day but didn't know him, he looked pretty quick and bulky. I heard good things but never got a name.

Speaking of Hurley, that transfer Richlands got is looking like a full grown man out there this morning. They must grow beards at 12 over there.

Looks as if Richlands has gotten 2 transfers from Alabama. Not for sure how big or what grade, but I heard one was 6'5 250 or 260 and the other 6'3 240. Not sure on the details.

Haha I said McClung got offered a scholarship. Never said he was for sure going. And yes the Richlands track team is pretty awful! Anyways, back to football. Since I've been out of the loop for awhile. The Florida transfer was a bust. Got some interest from schools at his current school and decided to stay. However, as I said, the cat hasn't yet come out of the bag.

Richlands newest transfer (which surprises me that the cat hasn't got out of the bag yet.) is not even D1 and he may very well be the very fastest Richlands has ever had. Probably the fastest in swva.

My goodness!!! There are NO D1 athletes at Richlands. Just a full roster of above average kids who are on the same page. That's why Richlands has dominated! Plus they loose 2 games, maybe 3 this year!

Now that I can post this without conflict. Which I'm sure this is no secret. Gate City will be loosing their superstar point guard. Via Oak Hill assistance which I shouldn't have named. Mac McClung will be offered scholarship to Oak Hill Academy where he will play his Senior year.

The Blues had a far better team, but tonight it was not a team effort. It was a one man show. Well, two man show. I imagine it was influenced by the coaching staff, however that's a wrap folks.

Richlands blows it by missing way to many free throws.

Richlands pulls it out and wins by 6. Gate City takes it to OT with Lee in foul trouble and wins by 4.

For some reason I really feel Richlands is gonna get it together and make it through these next 2 games. Championship game is a different giant. The starting line up is going to change. Herndon and Smith will most likely be subs. Being replaced by the Horn brothers.

Rumor has it the Football boosters used a undisclosed amount of money which was being waisted on new helmets and such to recruit for the basketball team. Lonzo Ball and Zion Williamson will be eligible for play this thursday. Richlands takes the State Championship with ease, put it in the books.

Would be a much different team. Would possible of won yesterday. I still see them winning Friday. This week they will be changing the game plan completely. They are gonna have to balls up and be physical.

Overall the game was called pretty well. I really only saw one obvious foul that wasn't called. It was when #3 was driving to the basket and he got hammered. Not sure how that call was missed but other than that Union just got frustrated by not being able to guard Ball and started hacking. The term being mugged all night might be a little over kill.

This is truth. The 1985 loss was equivalent to Virginia High beating Richlands last week. This 1985 team was without a doubt the best team to ever walk through the halls of Richlands High School. They had everything: size, speed, athleticism, and scoring ability. They also had the best floor leader/point guard to every come through Richlands High School the Michaels guy. If im not mistaken it was Rick Michaels.

I say Richlands finally has a much needed good game and comes away with a win. 71-62
