Not going to argue who has the better coach or staff whom has to assist a head coach, they all have to work with what they have and make something work. The GMEN had the better team on the field saturday they made mistakes and overcame them. Appo made mistakes and failed to shake them off and capitalize on grahams mistakes plain and simple. Graham played a good game and came away as the winner and they deserved it. Appo started this season with a very young and inexperience team and thru hard work and determination made a very very unlikely playoff run. I honestly gave us no chance in the first round. Graham on the other hand started the season like a beast and i inked them in as state champs this year from day one. Congratulations to the GMEN and i'm pulling for you next week not to let me down and win that state championship.
@oldfool is Appo coming down on Friday again and spending the night? I always wondered if 2019 outcome would have been different if Graham had spent the night rather than make that long trip the day of the game. They seemed to come out really flat that day. Traveling day of or spending the night may not have any bearing whatsoever though.
As of right now i have no clue what the travel plans are. I live in Lynchburg so i dont get alot of info thrown my way.
Calpreps projections got blown out the water in division 2 last night. Lookout Graham you might get bit by Ridgeview if the trend continues. Will be rooting for Graham as they are less of a drive from Appomattox.
Martinsville blasts Halifax County who was previously undefeated and they also beat Dan River worse than Appo beat Dan River. The Dogs go to 4 and 0. I don't think the Dogs are beating Radford in Region C come playoff time, but if they meet Appo or Glenvar before Radford, they have a legitimate chance to knock off Appo or Glenvar. After all, they have already beat Glenvar.
Martinsville showed potential last year at having a very good team this year so im not surprised by their success thus far. Appo is a small and kinda young team this year. They have some growing to do but coach finds a way to make them mesh as 1 for playoffs.

Yeah i had not seen the article on newsadvance only tried to read the article on BHS with all the popups and such was hard to read. I now believe you are correct and i was wrong. I dont understand that decision by coach and have watched it happen many times this season, but at a playoff game when your kick coverage has been non existent all season! Gosh a player at Altavista about wore us out this year and i kept wondering why we kept kicking to him. Maybe thats why i'm not a coach and just a low life fan of the Raiders lol.
Haha....everyone knows Appo is NOT is underdog. 😂😂😂 I agree, hope no players from either team get hurt tomorrow.
What can i say? The Raiders this year is not the team people are used to seeingbut they are starting to click i just hope it's enough at this point but they are far from their potential as of a week ago.

Some of our people are enjoying the light display in the park. They really liked the one of Grahams championship team with the goal post. Also heard it said they had so much food left over that they took to the homeless shelter and donated it.
That was very nice of Bluefield Wv to allow them to practice like that. I wonder if they allowed any of Bluefield's opponents the same opportunity for the same price?
Appomattox Raiders you should feel very fortunate that the town allowed you to do that. They have stolen the crack out of our a!@ for years.

Appo hates noise. 😂 They had someone come over in 2019 & tell our band to quit playing while Appo was on offense. I only know that because I was sitting on the end of the bleachers next to the band.
The white hat referee went to both band directors and told them. I was standing next to Appo's band director when he did.
There's a "nice" one on 460 right outside of Bluefield, VA, on the left , gas station across the road to fuel the buses. Has about 16 rooms , could have the entire motel to themselves. 😂 . I'd say dirt cheap rates too.
Sounds like the hotel alot of parents used to use when i was at Bluefield College back in the late 70's. I;m sure i dont know my way around town anymore.
I always thought the long trip that we took in '19 the morning of wasn't the best scenario. Then again getting 50 kids in a hotel to go to bed may not be either.
Not Appo's first rodeo at traveling and staying overnight, we have done it both times we have played at BSG. Usually most of the parents go with the team so an eye is kept on all of them very well.
