I’ve heard some schools are postponing workouts until school starts back up.
could there be any possible way of having a 7v7 league this fall. They could get four schools to come to field on a Friday and play. Anything is better than nothing at all.
So Washington County Va school board voted Monday for a Mon, Tues, Thurs and Friday school schedule with student only going on either Monday Thursday or Tuesday and Friday. How does this affect football in fall with kids not being at school each day. I don’t see any way possible for them to have practices
I feel like Battle will come out like there past two games, they'll come out and put up a fight for a quarter or two and then depth will take affect and Ridgeview pulls away. If Battle stays in it til the fourth quarter I can see a South Carolina Georgia situation.
Battle is like the red headed step child of Bristol, it goes Tennessee High, Virginia High and then Battle at the very bottom very similar to Kingsport with DB, South and North. Heck I've gone across the street to the Target or Hibbet and you can find Abingdon gear but no Battle stuff to be seen. The past three years Battle has gone to the playoffs first year Stone had a pep rally and a students and fans lined Battle Hill as the boys left the school and they went to Logans to eat. The past two years the game has been on a Saturday so pep rally was on Friday during school and the boys left on Saturday mornings. The boys at Battle from what I've heard get treated pretty good, heck they got a new field house this year, good unis and coaches and admin that care about them.
Where are all the athletes at Battle that they’ve had the past three years?? I know 20, 9, and 6 were decent but they’ve got no speed at playmaker positions. There most athletic seems to be a TE/DE.
Once again they put up a fight for a quarter and a half and then they run out of juice
This game will be a blowout Patrick Henry by 4 scores. Battle can’t block Marion lives in there backfield. Without Cunningham and Osborne Trojans have no run game. Defense is weaker as well with Cunningham and Denton gone. Like I said blowout
Hate to hear this about Cunningham but this game would be a blow out no matter who plays. Battle should easily be 3-1 at this point. The big hit to Battle is Poe #7 being out he was their playmaker.
I wonder if you’d be bashing them if your son was still playing and as far as Osborne how can you quit on your boys when things get a little tough and not going your way. I don’t understand young men these days.
I believe this game will come down to who is conditioned the best and doesn't get tired in the fourth quarter. Battle got pretty banged up last Friday and may be without some players or not at 100%
As to the current topic of loosing interest in Football, it's never a good thing when I drive by BATTLE on a Sunday and see that they have 20+ players out on the baseball field practicing with the some of the coaches.
I believe a huge problem with Battles system is that they have a former MLB player coaching their baseball team which is a great thing and he is a great guy. But now all the young kids and their parents are getting the idea that oh there is a former MLB player coaching my son or that my son is playing with his kids that they are automatically going to the BIGs. I may come across as putting him down but I don't feel it's right to be having travel ball tryouts for next summers baseball team while football is getting ramped up and making the boys decided on which they won't to play; it's you are going to sit the bench in baseball if you play football at a youth age.
Also Sullivan North seemed like they had as many if not fewer than Battle had last night.
