VHS plays the winner of Union and Boone. I believe Gate City plays Tn. High. That’s all I’ve heard so far

That should be another opportunity for two good teams to get some work in together. I imagine that the Bears should be in the mix in the M7.

Well, no scrimmage again today. Hopefully it will be rescheduled.

Yeah, I was told the same thing. Hopefully Mother Nature will allow it to happen this time. VHS scrimmaged Grayson County on Thursday, and the field was in pretty good shape. From what I’m hearing, this could be an early matchup between two of the top four teams in the region (not counting Abingdon, they will be in the mix during the regular season). It seems like it could be a good chance for both teams to get some good work in before the season gets going.

My son came home from practice last night and said that his coaches told him that they won’t be playing Saturday. With it just being a scrimmage, I guess the coaches can go back and forth on whether or not they want to play, a little easier, than a real game. I just know that as of yesterday evening, VHS players were told that it wasn’t going to happen, at least this Saturday. That very well could change though. The way things are looking today though, Mother Nature isn’t going to cooperate.

This scrimmage has been cancelled or postponed. Hopefully it will be made up because I’m interested to see what Wise has this season. They played the Bearcats tough in the playoffs last year.

I’d make my annual prediction but every time I foresee the future on this site, I piss a coach off in one sport or the other (and I’m not talking about VHS coaches lol)😉

SWD consolation is at 11:30 am SWD championship is at 1:00 pm Oak Hill is in town this weekend, so the times are early for Saturday.

It’s 100% about how much their coach “goes to bat” for them at the meetings. It’s an extremely flawed process, believe me. Especially if the coach is an egomaniacal jackass. Im not a bitter dad either. My kid has been one of the most decorated football players to come out of VHS in decades.

I watched some of the practice for the two teams last night. That is, until I could no longer feel my nose, fingers, and toes! Lol

No problem! I hate that both games are tomorrow. I would like to watch this game as well, but I’ll be at UVA-Wise watching my kid in the VHSCA game.

There is no one for VHS named Noah White. Jalon Dingus is playing with Watkins and Lathrop.

Just released today. Looks like I’m wrong about my kid playing for Mance! Lol

🤣🤣 Thanks! I’m excited to get to see him take the field against great athletes from all across the state. I’ve always heard great things about Mance as a person. It’s definitely easy to see he’s a great coach. He stopped us after our game against them in the regular season finale, and told my kid that he was looking forward to the chance to get to coach him.

Yeah, they could score some points, especially during his first year. He implemented the spread offense, back before it took over the game like it has now. It could be flashy at times.
