You might be right but I wouldn’t count Union out. Graham came out flat against Tazewell and will probably be rusty from nearly two weeks without full on practice. Of course, I’m hoping they come out focused and ready but it’s no guarantee. It may come purely to the line of scrimmage or who makes fewer mistakes.

Leadership isn’t for all women or some men for that matter. That decision was stupid and robbed those boys of their season. People can be so ridiculous over Covid. We’ve learned enough to know, those boys should have been back practicing within 7 days. Me, I don’t even think 7 days for kids but I’m not the CDC.

I didn’t realize they had only played one game since February. Can somebody please tell me the reason for canceling their regular season instead of just waiting out quarantine period? Was that a school level decision? Seems like someone overreacted or jumped the gun on that decision. The Blue “Tornado” might have a chance then. Realistically, it’s like game one of season for Ridgeview.

He’s there until he can move on. I see him wanting to coach at college level, maybe UVA-Wise??? No one has said that, that’s merely speculation on my part. If Richlands doesn’t have some phenomenal seasons under him though, would he even get an offer at the collegiate level??? Without Cole Beck I don’t think he’d won the state title at Blacksburg. I really don’t see talent coming up that will get him a state title at Richlands. I could be wrong & wouldn’t be the first time.

You’re asking the wrong person. I don’t have any inside information on Richlands game plan for next year, lol. I doubt Wells will consult any of us on this board about what he should do.

Meadows is definitely D1 material, probably most legit D1 prospect in Region D. He’s a hard worker and it shows. Lots of kids get D1 offers but don’t have the work ethic to play at that level. Talent can get you by in high school sometimes without much effort but talent alone won’t carry a kid on the next level. Meadows has talent and works hard.

Riddle me this? When has this Tazewell team been there before? No one can afford to look ahead, one game at a time. Tazewell has a lot more age on Graham so yes, veteran team. Central has some veteran players who have been there before though. They’ll be tough. Hoping the Dawgs and Graham can bring home a win for SWD but have to get by Union & Central first.

Graham is penalty prone but I think someone from Union mentioned they had maybe six personal foul penalties the last game. I could be wrong but I thought I saw that somewhere on a thread. This year’s Union seems a bit different than years past, probably just youth factor because they have great coaches. This may be who has fewer penalties or like you said, the ball last. Graham’s lack of preparation time is concerning but I’m sure their coaches will do all the can to prepare them. Should be a good game.

Yes! 500 in a 10,000 seat stadium is ridiculous but then again let’s consider the one making these arbitrary decisions which have nothing to do with “science “.

I heard extra tickets would be offered to juniors & seniors well, that was plan for us for Richlands game. I’m not sure though. I think it’s probably up to hosting school to determine how tickets are dispersed. 500 is limit which is asinine.

Let’s not say “they”...some of us had nothing to do with that, lol. Let’s just hope for a good game, horns or no horns. Union has had the better opportunity to prepare with Graham being quarantined.

I think the question that inquiring minds want to know most about this game, is that dang blasted train horn coming? 😂 Asking for all the people lucky enough to get a ticket and those of us possibly watching from the hilltop.

I honestly believe it may come down to which team makes the fewer mistakes. I think they'll be evenly matched for the most part. I'm not sure if Central.is penalty prone but Tazewell has been in a lot of their games. Penalties can be costly in the playoffs. The game with Central last season, cost Peyton Kiser the opportunity to play at Appomattox. Tazewell should be careful and not get drawn into anything.

No offense, but having watched him on several occasions, I get the impression he doesn't like to get tackled/hit so that might explain not running when he had the opportunity. I could totally be misreading the situation and possibly the coach has told him not to run. Either way, he's got potential to be a lot better and other options with his size.
