  1. No offense, but that's a big no. Miller was a lot faster & more athletic.
  2. Well, let's hope if y'all make the trip to SWVA, it's actually to WV at Mitchell Stadium & not BSG, lol. By "let's" hope, I mean me. šŸ˜‚ I know some of my board friends are hoping Region C will be traveling to BSG.
  3. I've said all along Graham could go by WV guidelines but it was a matter of the powers that be getting blow back from the other two county schools. With it being playoffs, maybe they'd be willing to push the envelope.
  4. Good point. Cam Allen, Player of the Year in VA was not recruited as a QB but he played both ways for Graham. He's playing defense for Purdue. No offense, I don't think any SWD QB is on the same level as Cam Allen. A position change might be in Cox's best interest if he wants to go on to the next level and actually get to play.
  5. Tazewell made Bradshaw a nonfactor. If Union can do that, they could make a game of it. If Graham wins and either Tazewell or Central can make Bradshaw a nonfactor, that's huge for securing a win. Graham adjusted with Tazewell taking Bradshaw out of the equation but the deeper you go in playoffs, you don't want your X-factor to be a nonfactor.
  6. Escalated right out of the gate and never let up. Honestly, it was painful to watch. Truthfully, if they had played Graham last night and their performance mirrored their play today, it would have been same outcome as Game 1 with Graham and not even close. I wish them luck with Ridgeview.
  7. He had good games past two weeks. I think something like 70+ % completion rate. Not sure what his completed passes etc. was today. He seems like an athletic kid. I think he'll do better next year. It's hard learning a whole new system under a new coach. He doesn't do well out of the pocket under pressure but a lot of other HS QBs don't either.

  9. Yes, three drives, three fumbles I believe
  10. Point taken ,it was more in reference to current issue and not the history of the program which has had several solidly successful eras. It's just a mess with all the Covid crap & shortened season but it's a bad look if Richlands voted yes to changes & now want to appeal because they're the ones impacted.
  11. Not if there was a difference in power points which there would have been.
  12. Drawing names out of a hat was ridiculous in itself when there were fairer ways to determine who would go.
  13. Iā€™m not so sure the VHSL is going to touch this with a ten foot pole but maybe the person that posted it has insider information that the rest of us arenā€™t privy to. If it were true, yes, appeal the appeal, lol.
  14. Page 11 Graham/Richlands thread. Hokies1977 I believe.
  15. I believe so, I think no matter whatever throws a monkey wrench Grahamā€™s way, the coaches will have them prepared the best the can for the match up. I only hope GMen donā€™t get drawn into unsportsmanlike conducts calls. That seemed to plague Union yesterday. Our boys need to not react and play their kind of game, donā€™t come out flat like they did against Tazewell.
  16. Someone posted if Richlands wins today , Union is out & they are in. Whether thatā€™s true or not, who knows. Wells appealed to the VHSL over taking top two from each district.
  17. According to another thread, Wells appealed to VHSL and if they beat Radford, they get in, not Union. Iā€™m not confirming that speculation as true just sharing what was posted. I do know he appealed to VHSL but Iā€™m not sure thatā€™s the decision that was rendered.
  18. Guess he never read Dale Carnegieā€™s book, ā€œHow to Win Friends and Influence People.ā€ My question is if the change was passed 11-0 at Regional level, did Richlands vote in favor or not vote? If they voted yes, the VHSL is ridiculous for even injecting themselves into the situation which who knows if they did. Actually, when itā€™s supposedly a regional decision, theyā€™d be crazy to step in, itā€™s a no win situation at this point for them and Wells. Richlands loyal will love him but a lot of region D will lose respect for him & the program, IMO.
  19. I donā€™t see where youā€™re reaching that conclusion. I donā€™t see any Tazewell or Graham fan implying that. I think Central & Tazewell is a toss up and Union & Graham could be too given Grahamā€™s quarantine and lack of prep time. They are young like Union. Anything can happen in the playoffs, nothing is a given for anyone.
  20. I commend Tony for what he has done at Graham. Heā€™s a top notch guy all the way, coaching and otherwise. A definite class act, on & off the field. He bought Graham back to the forefront in football. Graham is lucky to have him at the helm.
  21. Dare I mention one of the factors of Richlands program going down the past three or four years. ....Possibly losing one of the best defensive minds around. I know some on this board act like Snake no longer DC at Richlands wasnā€™t a big deal. I think it still had a negative impact on the program just like heā€™s had a positive impact on Graham. And now Tony Palmer snagged another Richlandsā€™ assistant in Ronnie Davis. I think those two along with the rest of the staff Palmer has put together are about a solid coaching staff as youā€™d find anywhere in the state. Football in small town America is cyclical but donā€™t shoot yourself in the foot like Mance did. Just my humble opinion. I by no means am saying a Graham wonā€™t have some down years in the future too. In the near future, probably not. Maybe Mance saw the writing on the wall and thatā€™s why he packed his bags for Loris.
  22. Lebanon no question, they could have a pretty decent season next year in 1A.
