Nothing against Coach Tarter but if your team lacks motivation isn’t that on the head coach & assistants? One can’t expect a bunch of teenagers to be completely self motivated (granted some kids are) but the team as a whole, motivation should be cultivated by the adults around them. If I were Tarter, I’d just give it up mostly to rid myself of the stress & time involved. Richlands really does need an outside person to take the program, stay the course and build it back up and yes, motivational person who can pull the best out of every kid on that field. I’d love to see all three county team competitive again. The better we each are, the better we all are.

Graham’s JV ends season without being scored on with 16-0 win over Richlands ; undefeated & tied 0-0 with James Monroe. Future looks bright for GMen! Congratulations to JV players & coaches. If I’m not mistaken, the middle school GMen only lost to Bluefield.

I think Tazewell even without Creasy. I do hope he’s healed up for the playoffs. Tazewell will need him especially if they end up having to play Union. He’s a tough kid and sure has had more than his share of injuries. I hate to see any kid get injured.

Yes, I believe so. We could potentially end up having a Tazewell/Union matchup, I don’t believe they’ve ever played each other. Someone correct me if I’m wrong. Possibly a Ridgeview/Graham matchup for the 3rd year in a row I think.

Give 110% and never give up and at least end season knowing they did their best and use that to rebound next season & start building back. When all the teams are competitive, everyone benefits! I want all of Tazewell County competitive!

I thought it was really cool the bands played the National Anthem together. They did a great job.

Richlands is a wounded animal. This team is on the precipice of making history at the Big R but not in a good way. Nothing is more dangerous than a wounded animal. They lash out to protect themselves at all costs. These boys & these coaches don’t want to be the first to 0-10 in the regular season. Graham better not look past the Blues. I don’t think Richlands wins but they’ll come out fighting or at least I would think they would. Rival game, home game, Senior night, not wanting to be 0-10…these could help Richlands put up a decent showing.

You don’t come around here much, do you? I was one of the Graham fans on this board that said all along I thought Tazewell had a chance and would keep it close & Graham had had some issues defending the pass. I was obviously wrong. I give credit to GMen defense for stepping up. Union beat Graham earlier this season, they were the better team that night. If they play again Union may very well be the better team again. I’m not one to make excuses. I’m more of a realist and often comment on areas where I think the GMen need to improve. The O-Line is still one of those areas. Penalties have improved quite a bit the past couple games and I hope Graham doesn’t revert back to excessive infractions.

The player of the game is Graham’s defense tonight. They have consistently improved all season. I really thought Creasy might give them fits but hats off to Snake & Rex for getting those boys game ready. Pretty much lights out!
