SWD teams especially VA High could have told Radford fans, on any given night , they can be out coached. Glenvar did just that!

Sounds like it might be a toss up depending on which team for both shows up tomorrow night. If FC can eat the clock the entire game like Marion did in the 3rd Q, it could be a long night for the Dawgs.

Very true! Either could get beat from now & at anytime in the playoffs. We’ve had lots of upsets in SWVA so nothing is a given. One game at a time & play your best football each game or you might get canned.

If it’s a forfeit, rider points will be given. If it’s listed as a cancel, no rider points is my understanding. At the end of the day, teams will have to play every game like it’s the championship regardless of the location. At this point, it stinks for teams like Graham but it is what it is.

So teams in those districts that played 10 games are now at a disadvantage compared to teams that get to pick their best scenario which is a 9 game season. My point is, no one should have the option. They should all be counted at forfeits. There needs to be a set rule, period.

The kicker is that Auburn bailing and not being forced to forfeit affects teams like Graham who have been top of PP all season only to be outpointed because of rider points that would have come from GW & Galax beating them. There needs to be consequences for this not necessarily punishment. It’s setting a bad precedent and other teams reap negative consequences when they shouldn’t because of these schools. Just my opinion…makes me a huge Bluefield fan this Friday!

I think maybe 1-9 made it in one of the other regions a couple years back in VA not sure the class but I remember this same conversation on this vary board when it happened. Where there aren’t a lot of teams, it’s going to happen. If the players don’t mind being the sacrificial slaughter, then I suppose we adults shouldn’t complain too much. Like everyone said, it gives some Seniors one last time to play.

No, any team that ends up 2-8 shouldn’t be in the playoffs but unfortunately, the VHSL has a flawed system in place that allows this to happen. If Region D had several more schools, then maybe not but unfortunately with only 11 teams & 8 spots, not much can be done about it. Kids that wouldn’t get to play one more game get to have that chance. It just drags out the season into December which I dislike. If they would eliminate the bye week & start a week earlier in August that would eliminate December playoffs though. That makes too much sense.

A win at Bullit is always a hard out but Abingdon almost beat Ridgeview so I won’t be surprised if it’s a close one that comes down to the wire. Tons of penalties on Union could swing it to the Falcons.

That’s crazy that Auburn could cost Graham 1st in PP. VHSL should count any teams that abruptly ended their seasons as a forfeit for opposing teams, in my opinion, lol. I’m sure Ridgeview feels differently. 😂
