  1. I know he got the better of my son a time or two. One I would say was clearly hands to the face (about ripped his helmet off) and another was a highlight film for him LOL (very next play). From what I have watched so far (14-13 in the game right now) I think he did well. Hard to beat a kid when your giving up 40+ lbs and 5-6 inches of height. I know in the second half I think Graham only got 3 first downs if I remember correct.
  2. Be nice to the Raider truck if you see it in Bluefield on Saturday. If you see the Raider A and SMITH STRONG please leave the tires alone. Looking forward to seeing your home field as I'll be there for my sons college game (Georgetown College) Hitting the Railyard for lunch is the plan provided 81 flows well.
  3. Rough for an O line guy or a defensive guy to get an award like that (not saying that some don't deserve it). It will ALWAYS be an offensive and skill player award. Kind of like the Heisman, you can't tell me the best player in college football is always (for the most part) a receiver or QB.
  4. We were super fast with good size and speed in spots where teams usually don’t have speed.
  5. Didn’t know there was a possibility of a running clock in the first half.
  6. Because of lack luster internet I can't stream games so I don't have the luxury of seeing the games. If Appomattox is healthy they will be a tough out for anyone but that is not to say it won't happen. IF we can make it through Region C I think it could be a great semi final match up. Just hope we don't have to go to BSG AGAIN!! LOL! But there is a lot of hurdles between now and then,.
  7. Seeing 21-21 on ScoreStream! Wish I had the internet to watch it.
  8. That shouldn’t be. please update this page.
  9. Thanks man!!!! That is the route I was figuring on heading. Site won't allow me to "like" anymore today.....anyway, appreciate all the responses.
  10. Lots of votes for this place. Appreciate it guys!
  11. So as a Appomattox Raider I haven't made the trip to Bluefield yet but that is about to change. My son will be playing against Bluefield College (he's at Georgetown College in KY) on Saturday the 25th. Game time is 2:30 that afternoon so we are planning to get there around 11:30 to catch some lunch before the game. We have a couple cars loads of Raider fans coming down so I'm looking for some suggestions of a good local place not too far from the stadium. I think I saw where you can buy tickets at the gates from the game. If you know differently please tell me. LOL Looking forward to seeing the stadium I've heard about from the Graham folks.
  12. Not so sure about that. Appomattox can be a handful for most any team WHEN they are at full strength. Not sure if that will happen right now. If they can't get Lawing back thats a big hit for them. Backup is a good athlete and a better passer in my opinion but you don't just take the 2A player of the year and replace him especially as good as he is on defense. If we can get back to full strength it should be a great game between us and Region C folks and even better if we get the chance to face Region D.
  13. I was surprised when I saw they beat yall as bad as they did.
  14. I'm with ya. I liked the added excitement of playing someone new.
  15. No time for someone who tries to intentionally tries to hurt another player.
  16. I thought we were the lower seed in 2017 (overall power points). The close game we won. I’ve been wrong more than once in my life though.
  17. Yea that 267mile trip, putting the kids in a hotel, when you’re the one seed was kinda rough. That’s ok though, great atmosphere and made the win all the sweeter.
  18. Hope they go back to the points.

  20. Barring all the craziness, who you have? Region A I know King William will be tough. Region B Buckingham and Stuarts Draft should be good. Region C Appomattox should be considered and I think Glenvar and Radford should be in mix for sure. Region D I know Graham is a front runner and Union should be very good. Not sure who I have in Salem. I think King William from the East and I would say the west is wide open with lots of talent.
  21. Yea, I've heard about that game. Like I said I enjoyed the horn and thought it added to the game experience. I can see how it could be used to sway a game though and only should be used at appropriate times. In saying that, I wouldn't have an issue with it being used after big plays like turnovers though.
  22. LOL! I know there has been discussion on here in the past over the train horn. Personally I love it but do feel that it shouldn't be used while the opposing offense is on the line. Now cow bells....One person ringing a bell cant influence a game like one person operating a train horn during "inappropriate" times. I say ring all the bells as loud and hard as you can. I've loved the two trips to the Gap and the atmosphere that is there, I think Appo help their own with noise both times we were down there. I will say that our band has been told they can't play while the other offense is trying to call plays (because of the rule I guess) and I guess they expected the same from other teams. I know Giles was allowed to bring their train horn but from what I understood there was guidelines on blowing it. We have a horn as well. It gets blown when the kids enter and after scores.
