TJ did not pressure Central - Woodstock the way that Graham pressured Central - Wise in their matchup. Graham's defense was on point in that game. I am very impressed that Central - Wise was able to come back and make a game of it. Most teams would have folded under the tremendous pressure. Hopefully Graham will be able to put up a similar defense effort in the finals. They have got to stay out of foul trouble early.

It doesn't appear that Central - Woodstock will have a height advantage on Graham. They may have a two or three inch advantage underneath, but not much. Graham appears to be the more aggressive of the two teams. Woodstock has some guys that can shoot it and a couple that can penetrate and make the basket. These two teams should match up well. Should be another great game.

Or Martin...and I agree.

Graham kid dunked the ball right after the buzzer and some adults got their feelings hurt. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1Don2qyEU2/

Final score Central-Woodstock 54 TJ 51 It will either be a battle of the Centrals or a rematch of the 2022 State Title football game

Woodstock 50 TJ 47 32 seconds left.

TJ 40. Woodstock 40 I really think Graham or Central either one can beat either team 3:28;left.

Halftime TJ 29 Central -Woodstock 20

Central-Woodstocks gym is smaller... I think Graham Middles gym is bigger then that.
-
Shawn Hendricks was about 6'5"
-
Estil Singleton 6'8". Keith Latimer 6'6" and Nick Goodson 6'6" immediately come to mind. I dont know further back then that

TJ-Richmond 17 Central-Woodstock 8 End of 1st quarter Both teams are good quality teams. Nothing overwhelming like JM had been. Graham or Central-Wise should be able to hold their own. TJ is a little more athletic amd has a couple guys who can penetrate and takenit to the rim. TJ looks more on par with Graham or Central Wise.

Senate Bill 220, introduced in January aims to review and make recommendations. But nothing that I'm aware of. I had heard some sort of discussion of such. Maybe somebody on here would know more.

The Virginia High School League (VHSL) has introduced significant changes to transfer eligibility effective for the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 school years, specifically targeting students who enroll in schools outside their assigned attendance zones. Loudoun County Public Schools Key Rule Changes (2025–2027) Elimination of the "First-Time 9th Grader" Exception: Historically, 9th graders could enroll in any school (even outside their zone) and be immediately eligible. New Requirement (Effective July 1, 2026): To be eligible at a high school outside their assigned zone, a student must have attended that school's designated feeder middle school for 8th grade. Full Implementation (Effective July 1, 2027): All 9th-grade students must enroll in their assigned attendance zone to maintain immediate eligibility unless they meet the feeder school requirement. The 365-Day Ineligibility Rule: If a student transfers to a new high school for any reason after establishing eligibility at their original school, they are generally ineligible for 365 days from the date of the transfer. This ineligibility applies unless there is a bona fide change of residence that complies with VHSL Regulation 28-6-1. Unity Reed High School +3 Requirements for Immediate Eligibility (Bona Fide Move) To avoid the one-year sit-out period, a transfer must satisfy four criteria: Abandonment of Previous Residence: The family must sell, rent, or dispose of the old home; it cannot be used by any family members. Permanent Move: The entire family unit must move to a new, fixed, and permanent residence with the intent for the move to be long-term. No Athletic Motivation: The move must not be motivated by seeking better athletic opportunities or specific sports programs. Full Family Relocation: Split-family arrangements or acquiring a second residence do not satisfy the rule. Fairfax County Public Schools +3 Exceptions to Ineligibility Immediate eligibility may still be granted without a move in specific cases, such as: Enrollment in a school-based academic specialty program (e.g., International Baccalaureate or Governor's School). Court-ordered placements (DSS) or military transfers. Verified cases of bullying or placements under the McKinney-Vento Act for homeless students.

Yeah. They have the talent. I worry about the play calling at times. There were a lot of times I thought Graham could just line a couple big boys up in the backfield and run Lilly or Palmer behind then and just run over some folks like they did a couple years back. I think Lilly could have been utilized more at rb. I know he was a great blocker....but imagine him or Palmer running with Williams and Dowell blocking in a stacked backfield....
-
As long as Graham has Dennis Palmer for the defense, I think they'll be ok. If I were Graham, I would be more concerned about the offense. Defense has been fine. Not sure what was going on with the offense last year, it was much more inconsistent then the few years prior.

In the State semis, does the ref crew have to be from a different region?

Now about 10 seconds ran off of the clock and the clock keeper never started the clock after the ball was put into play....good grief.
-
Floyd threw the ball in with 46 seconds left....didn't get it across half court and called timeout with 35 seconds left.....that should have been a 10 second call...Floyd ball down 2. 35 seconds left.
-
Floyd 52 Graham 54 46 seconds left. Graham on a 10-2 run.
