Cam Allen is not the best player on Grahams team, that would be Drew Baker. I would take Cam off the list and replace him with Baker. Baker makes his team mates better. He is truly a floor general. Allen is not too shabby either

Bluefields A game is better than Grahams A game, but Grahams A game is better than. Bluefields B game. Graham usually struggles shooting at the Armory, they need to get to the basket. Plus Meadows didnt dress for Graham last night against Giles. I dont think Graham has anybody to match up with Martin underneath. However, Graham will press just as hard as Bluefield. Baker and Crews will be key in handling the press. Both can handle it well. Edge to Bluefield in this early matchup. When they meet at Graham Middle next month, I say toss up. Todd Baker has the G men really prepared. If anybody can take down Bluefield, its Todd Baker. He will give Graham the best possible scenario to win this game. Keep an eye out for Nick Owens for Graham. If he is on his game and hitting his shots early, Graham has a chance. Also, Graham has 3 or 4 very good bench players. Significant drop off after that. They must stay out of foul trouble. If one particular ref shows up(who usually does at the Bluefield home games) good luck with that. Those of you that regularly attend the games know exactly who Im talking about. He stands at one end of the court and hardly moves.

They looked good. Cam had 2 early dunks. Defense forced multiple turnovers early when they pressed. They backed off and played everybody and the water boy the rest of the way. Meadows didnt suit up. Not sure how they will match up with Bluefield tomorrow without a big man underneath. Martin for the Beavers may have a big night, we will see. Both teams will press hard. Should be fun to watch.

Subs saw more time than the starters in this one. Is there a running clock in basketball? It ran the whole 4th quarter. 64-27 final

Graham was clearly the best team in 2A by seasons end. I dont think it would have mattered who they faced in the finals.

The addition of Raley, Edwards and Meadows (who played a limited role due to injury) made a huge difference for Graham. Who cares who would win now. Graham did what they needed to do and won when it counted. Good luck next year to both. I wish they would play the big game at the end of the season personally. Anybody who cant see the huge improvement in Graham this year is as blind as a bat.

I agree. The defense deserves every bit as much credit for this title as the offense. Early in the season, Goochland would have ran all over Graham's defense. Yesterday, they didn't have a chance.

Agree. This could have been much worse. The officiating was bad. It seems lilke every time I go to a state game, the crew is terrible. All of Goochlands points came from miscues (an INT set up their first Field goal). A baffling call by the refs after a great punt by Graham's Joey Dales, which made the G-men punt again, which ended up with the punter getting tackled. Graham was impressive, indeed. Goochland was used to running over and around their opponents and they ran into a team that was more physical than they were. Goochland got chippy, I believe because they weren't used to being punched in the mouth harder than they usually do the punching. Graham was CLEARLY the best team in 2A this season.

Lets let Graham enjoy the moment before we start discussing next season fellas!!

I forgot Central-Lunenburg who used to be awesome but still a solid team.

They play in the James River District and most of those teams are not very good except for maybe Amelia and Buckingham which are descent. Bluestone, Prince Edward, Randolph Henry, Cumberand are all about on the level of Tazewell, Lebanon, Princeton no offense to those schools. Cumberland is perpetually one of the worst teams in the state and actually petitioned a couple years back to not have to play Goochland because of the large margins of defeat, even though they were in the same district. So, no they havent had a tougher schedule IMO. Not by much anyway.

It is 48-0 in favor of Graham in the 2nd quarter.
