  1. For sure, the best O-Line that Graham has faced thus far. Graham seems to always struggle against Galax's running game. It looks like Shane Allen is keeping the same type of blocking schemes that Dixon was so good at. Graham has been bending, but not breaking against the run over the last couple of weeks. Hopefully, they will get that shored up. Seems like their linebackers play too close to the line and get caught up in all the traffic. But, what do I know. Galax blocks very well and has for several years now. For two weeks in a row, Graham has been a more balanced team then their opponents. If Graham wasn't able to pass the ball effectively, they very well could have lost both of these last 2 weeks. I was definitely impressed with the RB from Galax, he was a bruiser. Special teams needs to pick it up for Graham. They are giving up too many big returns and twice on kickoffs last night, they looked like they didn't want to pick up the ball. Not sure what was going on there. That will be the difference between a win and a loss in a big tame.
  2. Close games build character, especially if you come out with the "w".
  3. Well, both scores were on the subs in the last 2 minutes, but they did run the ball at will.
  4. Galax has 2 quick scores against Graham's 2nd team. Graham 28 Galax 14
  5. And if they do, that's 8 points guaranteed. Come to think of it my Bulldogs scored 8 on Graham, they ran the ball at will.
  6. Graham 42 - Galax 8. Galax will run the ball at will.
  7. Graham Middle beat Bluefield Middle 20-8 on Monday night.
  8. Union will run the ball at will. Union 8 GC 0
  9. The Counter-Play gave Graham some trouble, but they started to defend it better as the game went on.
  10. Agree I'll take Graham by 21 or more.
  11. Both teams were chippy and both coaching staffs need to deal with it. If anybody got hurt because of lack of discipline on either side, that is unfortunate.
  12. No offense, but nobody in region D has matched up as well as with the teams coming out Region C in recent years in terms of talent at the skill positions as Graham has. You can't really tell much about Graham's skill positions, especially on the defensive end from the Graham vs. Union game, because Union doesn't have a pass game. I believe both Graham and Union have superior lineplay to Radford and both could give them a good game for that reason. We are talking about a hypothetical matchup anyway. But, IF those two meet, I would expect a very good and interesting game. I would suspect it would be difficult for Radford to have the time to utilize their skill players as much as they would like, but I would also expect them to be able to bust a big play or 2 or maybe 3. I would also expect Graham to control the line of scrimmage and move the ball down the field well also. But that is my opinion and I have been known to be wrong a lot on here. Whatever happens, whether it be Graham, Union or Ridgeview or anybody else coming out of Region D, I will surely be pulling for that team to represent the region well. Also, Graham plays Galax this week, I'm sure that is their concern this week. The G-men have good coaching and I think their style of play will keep them in any game this year with any opponent they may face in 2A. A good defense and an offense that can effectively run and pass will keep you in any game that you play.
  13. I was wondering about power points today too. In particular, if RV and Graham win out (a lot to be determined between now and then of course, I was wondering who had the best chance of hosting in Region D in that scenario. Graham still has two 4A teams left on the schedule in Pulaski County and Blacksburg, but they also have two 1A teams in Galax and George Wythe.
  14. I agree with this. Graham's special teams have given up way too much field position this year, they need to work on that phase of the game for sure.
  15. I hope for a speedy recovery for that young man. As for Bluefield, they get into the win column this week. I'll say 27-7.
  16. Graham's defense is pretty good. They have some weapons on offense and it is coming along. Last year, the defense improved as the season went on, this year, I guess it's the offenses turn. If Galax can throw the ball and protect the qb long enough to get some throws off, they may pose a challenge. I don't think they will be able to run much on Graham.
  17. They actually played that game in Salem because of poor field conditions at Radford, but yeah, I was there and it was ugly. I'm the guy who when the Radford coaches were yelling at their players in pre-game to "look at them (Graham)...Don't they look pretty?? I'm the guy who yelled back, "They are pretty!!" Then Graham proceeded to dismantle them.
  18. Graham has pretty good speed at the skill positions. The lineplay is their strength and games are won at the line of scrimmage. But this about Graham vs Galax. So I have to go with Graham 35-14
  19. Final Score Woodrow 30 Bluefield 27. Bluefield has lost 4 games by a total of 16 points. They fall to 0-4 to start the season. Don't know the status of Hairston.
  20. 30-27 Woodrow on top with 10 seconds left. Partially blocked field goal trickles over the cross bar.
