  1. Tazewell went 3 and out on first series, Chilhowie has had the ball for about half of the first quarter, down to the Bulldog 20, 4th an d-1. Warriors picking up 4, 5, 6 yards running the ball. Dogs need to figure something out. As I speak, 6 yard gain. 1st and 10 on the 14. Dogs looking a little lethargic on defense.
  2. You been drinking the blue Kool aid? Just giving you are hard time.... Richlands has dominated the dogs for a long time. But the past few games have been close and the d9gs came home with a win a couple years back. I do believe the dogs will win this year and I would love to see both teams field quality teams in the future with a competitive game each year.
  3. Appropriate that you have that green and white "T" as your avatar this season.
  4. I see the southwest this way now 1. Graham 2/3 V-High / Tazewell (tbd) in first week. 4. Richlands 5. Marion.
  5. # 23 is listed as Daniel Jennings on hudl (freshman).
  6. I think the #2 and #3 spot may be determined next friday.... Should be a good one.
  7. That would be the difference between a 4A team and a 2A team...
  8. 1st teamers end up 21-0 in favor of Graham. 2nd teamers taking over to start 2nd half. Glass scores on 4th and long 21-7
  9. Their starting Quarterback is George White and is a 3 year starter. He scored a 1400 on his SAT, has a 4.48 GPA and is 6'1" 200 lbs and was 1st team Region D QB in 4A. He had 29 passing td's in 11 games. https://www.hudl.com/profile/8579898/George-White
  10. Roberts has also been offered a preferred walk on at Tech.
  11. E.C. Glass returns 18 starters to a Division 4 team that made the Regional Quarterfinals last year. There is a ton of optimism from their fan base. https://wset.com/sports/football-friday/football-friday-2022-preview-ec-glass-hilltoppers
  12. Good Grief. The kid ran a 4.60 as an 8th grader. Give it a rest. Same was said about Taymon Cooke a few years back until he was clocked with a speed jacket on at 4.47 and shut everybody up.
  13. Not at scrimmage, but latest is Graham is up 21-0 nearing the half. (Another pick 6). I imagine that big defensive line is pressuring the qb to make bad throws and Graham has two guys that can run a 4.5 in the secondary.
  14. It's hard to judge what Tazewell has based on their scrimmage with Radford. Creasy was able to make some plays with his feet and find receivers, but there were a lot of dropped passes because he was mainly throwing to backups. I don't like the read option that they run with Creasy. I think they just need to drop him back and let him make plays. Running him is too risky, the backup is a freshman and I'm sure he will be a quality qb when his time comes, but their offense is built around the pass and cannot afford to have Creasy out for any amount of time. The defense looked confused at times and out of position (new players on the field). I think the benefit game will be a bit more telling for the dogs. The bulldogs have a lot of new face and some inexperience, having 54 out is a positive sign, however a lot of those 54 are freshmen and upper classmen who have not played football. They have a good nucleus of skill players, but the line play will be key. Regarding the benefity game?? I expect to see Tazewell come out on top, but it may be close then some expect. Tazewell has some work to do.
  15. been looking for them, can't find either one of them anywhere.
  16. Chilhowie vs Tazewell will be on NFHS. Any others on NFHS?
  17. Agree. Not sure how long Noel or Rizo are out, they should help when they are back. Pugalee is out for the season it appears. I thought the run defense did well.
  18. #17 has 3 guys in front of him on the depth chart at rb. I was surprised to see him running the ball. Im sure they were working on blocking. #6 and #33 will probably be the backup rb's before #17. But I'm speculating.
  19. Agree with your assessment. I agree with what you said about Isabelle. Graham looks like they may have a nasty defense again this season. They have size and strength up front, smart linebackers with good size and strength and a fast and talented secondary. They also have a little bit of depth on that D-Line. The running game should be solid. The QB play and passing game will be the key to their success. If that develops and comes along, they could make another run.
  20. I think Tazewell was working on their routes with the younger receivers in their scrimmage with Radford. Harris was only targeted 3 or 4 times and sat out a lot of the scrimmage. It's hard to tell from the first scrimmage for Tazewell, Creasy did a good job of escaping pressure and making good throws. Several passes were dropped or just out of reach. The run game wasn't worked on much. Defensively, they held Radford in check pretty well, except for a couple of long Touchdown throws. Radford has some good looking athletes and I'm sure they were working on specifics also. We'll see how it goes next week. The Virginia High game being in that first week will be very telling for both teams.
  21. Just finished watching Graham vs. Gate City. It appeared that in varsity action Graham out-scored Gate City 2 td's to 0. In JV, Gate City outscored Graham 1 TD to 0. Graham's defense is definitely ahead of the offense. Gate City managed a few gainers, but more often then not, they were stopped in the backfield and the QB was whistled down a lot on the passing plays (They wouldn't let the QB's get hit). Gate City's JV moved the ball well against Graham's JV. Clements scored 2 long TD's for Graham. It looked like Isabelle got quite a few carries in the scrimmage. I couldn't tell who was on the D-Line for Graham, they were wearing different #'s then what I am used to. Roberts was good, when he was in (didn't play him a bunch), I guess they are trying to get others ready. # 64 looked good and # 11 also # 23 played well on the D - Line. # 69 must be the kid from Texas, he got a good push on the line when he was in there. He will be good to come in on 3rd and short or just to spell some of the others. Clements only carried the ball 3 or 4 times and had the 2 td's. Like everybody else, they are a work in progress. The passing game did not look good for Graham, they need to work on that big time.
